Insurance is very high, rates are too high, utilities too expensive, gym kit expensive, marketing costs can be high and membership is too cheap.

It's simply not realistic to sell membership cheaply unless you're Ben Dunne and have over 8k members and can afford to take the losses whilst building the business to that level.

Rag riding Matrix - he's been running from debts for years and they've caught up with him.

So whats the message if it seems to good to be true!!!!!!!
Have been member of sfxgym for couple years now after been stung by paul Byrne last time around with Westgate , great spot and great atmosphere plus was in yesterday and place buzzing a lot of new equipment as well, suppose needed cause of the influx of new members.. Please people no matter what this man (paul Byrne ) sets up never give him money as you will be STUNG, like an awful lot if us found out hard way

SFX is pretty small and tight for space. There is only one squat rack and one area setup so you can deadlift or clean. Has nice equipment though if you can get to it and there seems to be a lot of guys lifting some heavy **** which is good for motivation.
Was a member of the Matrix until it closed down. They really could have done a much better job on the place and actually made it work. Noone in there cared at all. Couldnt even get a bar of soap in the bloody toilets ffs.

Paul Byrne is a common enough name.
Is it the same guy from the telly?

No - Paul from the TV is a decent guy with a good reputation. Paul Byrne from Drogheda is a scammer. Has closed more gyms that anyone I've ever heard off and still hasn't realised that he's just not very good at business!

Just on the squat rack point, there is 2 squat racks , was squatting myself today and one of the other power lifters were squating as well at same time , I'd say when you were in they had the "monolift" safety bar on the rack as some of them animals squatting up to 360kg!!!!!! But you can just slide this off :-)
