Well I guess that answers that so!

Any ideas about the cables used in the Cooltek case above?

I really want USB3 but can't afford a mobo with the headers so need those cables with the USB type A connection to feed them around to the mobo I/O but I've only seen then on the Cooltek cases which, let's be honest, are plain ugly!

I'd love a Bitfenix Raider or Shinobi but don't know if I could use USB3 with them.

    Actually what does this mean? 2 x SuperSpeed USB 3.0 - 9 pin USB Type A ¦
It's in the blurb about the 500R on hardwareversand.de

    USB 3.0 uses 9 pins.
The Type is the shape of the connector, A being the standard youd see on the back of the mobo.

Any of ye use f.lux on ye're computers for eye strain at night ? Link

Literally just after starting using it so dunno if i'll stick to it or not, definitely notice its easier on the eye .... but dunno do i want this orange hue :P ... i'll leave it a few days and see what its like

Very weird. Think I'll give it a go, but can see it being disabled for movies and the likes.

Ah so there's USB2 type A and USB3 type A as well? I thought USB3 was 19/20 pin. On phone in work at mo, cake really see, will have a proper grander at home later. Thanks for the info btw!

No USB3 header listed in the manual, unless I'm missing something.

Yep just finished a build with it and it doesn't have USB3 headers. HWVS have the wrong specs listed. They also list it as having x8/x8 crossfire which is doesn't. Sorry for the confusion. :pac:

Any reason in particular you didn't like it ?

Yeh i was just watching a flick there, i left it turned on at the start just to see the difference. It actually wasn't bad, i still turned it off though. Heh turning it on for the first time is some difference until your eye's adjust. Looking forward to tomorrow and see what the transition is like over a more natural period

    Very true

Not too sure how i feel about the hour long disabling for colour sensitive work will have to have a dig around the settings to see if i can extend it

EDIT: ha, settings are pretty simplistic, no setting for extending :(

wait, is there no mobo that for 20€ extra would have internal headers? IIRC, my mobo only cost 105€, and I got it 10 odd months ago, surely its been reduced somewhat.

Yeh i was more thinking of times when i'm in a program like Zbrush which leaves no taskbar ... now it's not a hassel to get it back or anything, but it's all extra effort when i should just have the option of extending the time period, or just having an activate/deactivate button :)

Not that I can see, looks like about €40 extra. What mobo do you have?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 88 ✭✭Osmosae

Right click the flux icon in bottom right corner and exit, when you want it back, start-->all programs-->flux.

As soon as its sent to them, pretty much. The last time I ordered, They received mine on Monday morning and had the parcel packed and out the door by five o clock. I got an email from them on their reception of the payment, and another when the package was collected by DHL.

Ah, it's just I did the transfer Monday evening, and that went through Tuesday, and I haven't received an email. The order status is still pre-payment too. I might try to email them tomorrow... starting to worry that maybe I didn't fill the form in properly or something :/

Bank transfers usually take a fair bit longer than that, while the money may have been taken out of your account, the payment has to be processed by your bank, the transfer company, and their bank before it gets to them, so it won't get to them until around tomorrow at the earliest.

Lads... Do delivery and postal services are closed on good Friday? And then ofc closed for all bank holiday?

Would that be a reason why my package is traveling so slow? Like instead of 2 days, 6 days?

    There you go:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/information/openingtimes.aspx

Closed on Friday and Monday. So it's likely that a lot of things are stopped across the UK as well as Ireland.
