Watching the season reviews makes me see why people compare Prost and Alonso so much. Prost would manage to drag crap and broken cars through races and it looks like Alonso is dragging a piece of crap around that track much more quickly than it should be.

There's no doubting Alonso's car control anyway, would have been very very simple to bin that into the wall.

Mercedes do look strong, but I reckon theyll slot in 6th-8th by raceday.

I'm usually a fan of wet races but any rain like that during a race or competitive session and it'd just be mayhem.

solid so far from schumi with p1 in second practise. what do people make of james allen and jaime in the commentary , they seem to be doing a good job.

didn't like jaime that much, his english isn't great and he does like repeating the same words over and over and over

yeah thats right, he needs a bit of time to get settled in. ferrari struggling atm, redbull holding back no doubt for qualifying tomorrow. hulkenburg did very well, he likes those conditions

    Aussie GP facts
    • From 2002 - 2011, the winner of the Australian Grand Prix has gone on to become World Champion seven times
    • DRS can be used over 56% of the lap distance in qualifying, a total of 2970 metres
    • The Safety Car has been deployed in six of the last ten Australian Grands Prix on a total of 15 occasions
    • Mercedes-Benz power has won three of the last four Australian Grands Prix (2008, 2009, 2010)

The first stat in bold is very significant , whoever wins the gp on sunday could well win the championship again, if it is seb, then i hope he doesn't win the wc until the last or penultimate race

I can't decide whether I should get Sky Go for just the months BBC isn't covering live F1 or should I get Setanta subscription...

Advantage with Sky Go is I can watch it on my PC which is good cuz most of the races BBC isn't covering are early or late in the day. Disadvantage is its 50eur for the month!

Advantage with Setanta is I can get all the races for 100eur.

Do ye guys know if Sky Go stream is HD?
And do you get all the "red button" stuff on Sky Go too??

The drivers seemed to push a bit harder towards the end which made it entertaining to watch. Kobayashi was up to his usual "past the limits" schenanigans.

Can always rely on Kamui to liven things up a bit :D

I only saw FP1 on setanta. I though Jamie wasn't too bad, he had some interesting insights.

****sake, Paddy Power only taking betting on fastest in FP3 now, was gonna try and get a tenner on Rosberg for pole.

EDIT: Heh, he just went from 9/1 to 5/1 for fastest in FP3.

Nah, flatspotted tyre, won't be risking another set with a quali run.

On another note, Sky could do with sorting volume levels. There was a sudden mess-up there but the difference between the bits at the end of the ads and the commentary is huge.

This is looking promising...Hard to say anything conclusive just yet but Mercedes' pace is very encouraging.

Ah well, too late to go to bed now. On goes the coffee.

Alonso looks to be getting closer to the pace but Jesus that Ferrari just looks awful.

More one of the hoping-the-title-won't-be-decided-after-half-the-season places I think.
