    I like the balance it would be a pain in the arse if it was all serious, it would also be a pain in the arse if it was all folly.

    It wanes from one to the other it depends on what is happening OR what thread you open..OP you really do have a choice.

    To be honest....

    AH has gone down the drain a bit in the last few months. Hardly post anymore myself, just throw my eye over it and its the same ole same ole....

    The loss of the Pics/Vids subforum has made it feel far more serious.

    About a year or 2 ago it was great. It was zany, amusing but controlled enough that it wasn't just overly stupid.

    A good few amusing regular posters closed accounts/were banned and its died down a bit.

    AH 2009 - 2011: The Golden Years.

    The interesting is I'd say 2006-2008 were the golden years. A poster from 2000 might say different.

    We're always aspiring to improve.

    It's busier now than it ever was by the way. The way boards has grown in terms of posters is reflected more and more with reported posts and number of posters and numbers of posts going generally in an upward direction.

    There are more knee-jerk, right-wing nut-jobs who can't argue for sh1t so they just throw out "the PC brigade" as if that's clever, but that's bound to happen with an overall increase of members.

    And more Irish people who arrogantly feel they're different and superior to other Irish people - and express this by throwing out insults at Irish people.
