I was of the understanding that this was a place to come for some light hearted banter and taking the pisss out of each other, while not making someone cry,

it just seems AH is getting more serious every day with real debate happening and genuine replies, it has got to the stage where I am ascared to post, in case of saying something offensive which in the past would of been accepted as the norm,

I keep looking over my AH shoulder waiting for a slap on the back of the head and the HEY BUCKO CALM IT DOWN OR ELSE, then while replying to this threat I receive a kick in the arsse from the front telling me I am banned,

the worry of it all has me losing weight and biting my finger stumps.

Havn't got a good laugh out of a AH thread in ages. Tis all sour politics now, or this forum should be called 'politics light'.

I was just looking through the threads and wondering where all the good threads are gone. The only good one that comes up every now and then is the stingiest things one

Ah, the weekly "AH used to be more fun" thread.

I'd been lurking here for quite a while before signing up, and it's pretty much the exact same as it's always been: a mixture of both serious and light-hearted discussions.
I imagine that that's the appeal for most people.

Now if only the people complaining about the decline of AH somehow had the ability to start the types of threads they'd like to see...

OP it looks like you haven't a clue about how AH works at all. You can have the sublime right next to the ridiculous, the serious beside the hilarious and all within the same thread. Such is the nature of AH and it's what makes it unique from all other forums.
