How bloody dare you, the rest of us here suffering & off you pop to Bondi beach.
If I'm going to ride out this miserable recession then so are you.
The Irish used to take pride in our poverty & lack of hope for the future, it defined us as a people.
Having nothing to look forward to is an Irish way of life.

So put away your backpacks & stop visiting your job fares, the ship is going down & we want you all on-board.

Go on, shoot your slings & arrows, I can take it cause I'm Irish.
I was born with a bollock proof neck ready for nothing but hardship.
It's in my genes, we're altogether on this lads, shoulder to shoulder.

In a way I agree with the OP although shooting them...really....a little harsh do you not think? It's up to us to make this country what we want it to be...we might be broke and not have the latest 4x4 but we can still have the craic..and we have each other:D

*Although I know the hardship of people with families etc. who have to emigrate:(, but the young ones just going to feck round bondi, thats not hardship:rolleyes:

Ireland used to be a great little country, now no one can see past getting to the nearest airport and getting out of here as quick as possible.:(

Ah yeah, everyone except the bankers, builders, ministers, developers, those on the dole, those who aren't on the dole, those who want their bailout, public sector, private sector... whatever.

All in this together my bollix.

"People who try to emmigrate should be shot, in front of their families", you say.

They tried that policy in the German Democratic Republic for years. In the long run, it didn't work. I don't think it would work in Ireland, either. Besides, it would be bad for tourism and inward investment.:D

By the way, there only one "m" in emigrate, but two in immigrate. Sorry to sound like a grammar nazi.:):)

So because I haven't a family I should hang on here and be taxed to death to pay for other people's mortgages? **** that!

You fail in your own logic. It should be, "There is only one "m" in emigrate, but two in immigrate.

Get back to dasboot camp, and learn to grammar nazi properly.

You sound like one we could loose.
Make many Canadian babies & send them home when the time is right to pay 50%+ tax.
Now we don't want them too young when they'll clog up our education system.
