 But thats like saying with the addition of Milk & sugar a cup of Tea is no longer a cup of tea!!,surely as long as the main ingredient is 'crips' then it's a 'crip sambitch'?

Well purists would say that adding milk and sugar to tea takes from the flavour.

As a purist appreciator of the crip sangwidge I reject the idea that a crisp sammich remains so when foreign foodstuffs are introduced.

A guggy egg - I haven't heard that in ages!
Crip sambo made with two rounds fresh bread, sometimes the crips cut their way through the bread, so you got to fold it lengthways to make sure none of the glorious crips fall out.

Also - chipstick sambo's made with batch bread!

your post OP made me really want a tayto sandwich, but low and behold, no taytos were to be found in the press. So had to make do with a hula hoop one!!! Just wasn't the same at all. :(

Ahhh but if I were to make a crip sambitch AND a cheddar cheese sambitch then put one atop of the other and eat them that way wouldn't I still be eatting a crip sambitch?

    I would say, technically, no.

The reason being that you will be contaminating the purity of the crisp/bread/butter flavour with cheese.

You see the question is are you having a cheese sandwich with crisps or a crisp sandwich with cheese?

    Neither I would say.

    Whats not to like? ....seriously

I'm not a fan either.......It probably wouldn't be so bad without the butter but butter with crisps is just disgusting.

Ham sandwich on fresh brennans with kerrygold, packed full of tayto cheese & onion – can’t beat it when your too lazy to cook, which is usually for me, straight after a shop of nothing but veggies, fruit & good food – I get home and wonder what the hell I was thinking in the supermarket – where’s the something ‘nice’. Crip sammich then does the job!

........I still make them nowadays for my little one but she never eats it  oh well best not let them go to waste eh! ;)

    nomage!

I called it a guggy egg as well but can't remember how to make it? It was made in a mug is all I can remember.

    1. get a bag of tayto.
    2. get a handful (8-10) of cola bottles.
    3. open bag of tayto, and throw in the cola bottles.
    4. shake bag vigorously.
    5. EAT CRISPS AND COLA BOTTLES TOGETHER.

I like wholegrain buttered toast topped with Hunky Dorys, splash of sweet chilli sauce for dipping.

fried onion sandwich with Heinz ketchup.. and if you want to go gourmet, carmalize the onions by frying them for 30 minutes on a low heat with half a t-spoon of sugar. Worcester sauce is a nice addition but only add to the pan with onions, and make sure the bread is toasted, or it will go soggy

Big gay Guardian reader's sandwich there. Crisps, bread, eat - end of.

    There are few simple rules

1 - It Must be white bread, ideally pat the baker or Brennans
2 - It Must be real butter, none of this I can't believe nonsense, because I have taste buds and I can taste the difference
3 -The Crisps should be Tayto Cheese & Onion, other flavours are only permitted if you have nothing else in the house (although why you would want other flavours in your house is beyond me) or if you're one of those free think hippy hemp satchel types who feels the need to"experiment" on a regular basis.
4 - Condiments - anything beyond a light layer of Hellmans Mayo is tantamount to sacrilege, and frankly for people who add Ketchup or Ham or even, for the love of god, peanut butter!!! I would start checking birth-certs to see if your parents are cousins, because that's the only explanation for such an abomination.

Sir, I was in agreement with you until point number 4. NO other ingredients should be added. A crisp sandwich is a crisp sandwich. Bread, butter and crisps. Why tamper with perfection.

    Goodday to you.

Crisps and chocolate mixed together better than playing with yourself.
