Absolute shocking disregard for basic genetics here. This whole beige/tan/mocha skin colour evolution was dreamt up by some sociology professor as far as I know and not an evolutionary biologist.

Notwithstanding the fact that there are several different alleles for skin colour and it is not simply a case of black + white = brown, in a randomly mating population (with no selective pressure towards any particular skin colour) I'd expect it to reach Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. So no homogenous 'mixing' would occur

I just have to point out, that this has nothing to do with Ireland. This is an American article about America, it is not in anyway applicable to Ireland today or in the near future, 95% of the Irish population today is white, 1% is black, you are living in delusional cuckoo land if anybody thinks that the population of Ireland will be coffee colored in 50-100 years, it simply will never happen at the current demographic.
In America most Hispanics are considered white anyway as far as I know.
Furthermore, if you actually want everyone to be mixed the government would have to force everyone to have children outside of their race for generations because if you have one black grandparent and 7 white than you will look white, and vice versa.

I love the way people automatically stereotype everyone based on their colour/race. In the US and indeed most countries with different racial groups, I have met black people who I would describe as more in line with the white stereotype and vice versa and that goes for all ethnic groups.

Anyone remember that Asian/Indian skit show from back in the 90s, "Goodness gracious me", there was one skit with two Asian couples trying to oudo each other on who was more white/English. Obviously exaggerated for effect but they obvioulsy got the idea from somewhere.

Its not just about ehtnic mixing but mixing of cultures also. My brother is married to a beautiful black girl who we adore and I have a good friend who is married to a white girl and they have two adorable kids. To me anyway its all good, cant be worse than useless white skangers bringing more children into the world;)

I would disagree.

Assuming one wishes the human race to survive (as,on balance, I do)then a healthier, fitter, more disease proof population is to be desired I'd say.

We absolutely have to address population growth and environmental questions in tandem obviously-but they are seperate (though linked) issues imo.
