hi again! I was just wondering if you could look at my day's food for today just to see if I'm in the right direction? I know cheese should be out, but then it's the first day, so I'm not sure.. I have to read over the steps again, not retaining any info today! Anyway, yeah any help would be great, and I know it says my cals are a bit low but the chicken fillets were 180 cals each instead of the 120 I think it took them as and there's still time left in the day :) thanks!

My post hung and you had fixed it while I was trying to resend :( Anyway...

    If I were you...

    - Lose the banana. Too many carbs, with too little fibre. It's a great food for your post work out meal but not an every day thing.
    - Increase your veg. Breakfast needs veg included and lunch needs more veg.
    - Cut out the processed food. Turkey bacon is super processed 0% fat protein which is fine if you are on a low fat diet but you are aiming for 50-60% fat each day.
    - Increase your fat. Or at least record it. You didn't list the fat that you fried the egg in for breakfast. How did you cook the chicken?

On that list your calorie split is Carbs 30% Fat 29% Protein 41%

If you are a woman and want to lose weight you should be looking at between 1200 & 1600 calories a day (depending on your current weight, height, level of activity etc) and less than 100g carbs per day. The standard method used by nutritionists to estimate our minimum daily protein requirement is to multiply the body weight in kilograms by .8

    So...

Cook your eggs in olive or coconut oil
Eat bacon rather than turkey bacon
Add red meat (and eat the fat)
    Add avocado
Dress your salad with olive oil

Glad you liked. The ones at home are a bit different as I think the ones in pack are dehydrated rather than baked.

So I was in town this morning, so hard to find myself something for lunch on the go in m&s, even all the salads had quinoa or the like in them. So I picked up a pack of roasted chicken drumsticks. Now I am sure you could stand at a bus stop and eat a sandwich without anyone paying any heed, the same is not true of a drumstick! Gawped at I was!

I know :( He doted on that child, you could hear it in the prev episodes, how could that woman live with herself?!

On a happier note I have ticked my fermented food box - had saurkraut for
the first time today as part of lunch - yummo! I bet my 5 yo dd would love it too, she loves olives, gherkins etc
Am going to get kimchi next time I'm in town in one of the asian shops.

Keeping to that happier note, I got some yesterday in the Asian shop on George's st. It's in a bag in the fridge at the back. There's 3 slightly different types. Have a read of the ingredients as there's rice starch in there, but one of them also has MSG so stay the hell away from that one:)

I had a bad day with paleo :(

I went low carb yesterday and my blood sugar dropped like a rock. I thought "ah sure I have had keto headaches before". Woke up this morning like I had 3 x bottles of wine hangover and felt like proper flu.

Caved and had some oats as it was the easiest carb source at hand. Going to buy some sweet potatoes tomorrow and use that as a carb source. I'll try to keep carbs low though

Bad day today - as the old ww saying goes - if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Walking around M&S starving, trying to find something for dinner, while my poor husband fumed..They got the chinese take away deal, I got nothing & had to make do with what was in the fridge.
    Feeling cross & fed up.

The problem with M&S is when you find something that you can eat, they have throw something onto it you can't e.g. chickens covered in sugar or salads with rice in them.

Yes true, so many lovely salads spoiled with cous cous, pasta or quinoa!
And I discovered after eating them yesterday that my hastily purcahsed chickon had dextrose or something in the skin glaze.

Sorry you felt rough today - are you eating enough veg & fruit for your carbs? I use myfitnesspal and take in 70-100g carbs a day in non startchy carbs.

I didn't have any fruit. I think that was my downfall. As I'm use to other low carb diets that restrict fruit. One banana might have been enough to give me some sugar and some potassium.

I think the dextrose on the chicken isn't too bad as its burned off and probably just to brown it. It is pretty much pure glucose.

I am trundling along happily. I'm eating well & losing weight (17lbs in 7 weeks) but I have stopped exercising (again). I need to get back to it but man alive I can't get to it :-(

I thought it would be a video feed of them talking..but it's more like powerpoint =audio, it's more suitable for listening, but then you miss the visuals..

Video makes the bandwidth requirements too high. 9 days x 3 videos would kill my download limit. This is good news for me.

I won't get to listen til after the boys are in bed.

Liver & bacon for dinner tonight! Yummyoladelicious :-)

I thought that too but copped it was just an ONLINE thingy and as its all free-ish I knew they'd keep it simple. Will still be checking it out every day though:)

I liked the Mark Sisson one. I stopped the other one part way through.

I got a small pressure cooker from India this morning :-) I'm looking forward to getting cooking with it :-)
