Does anyone know if it is possible to buy cartons of egg white? I like egg white omelettes but throwing away the yoke seems to be a waste

    Thanks!

Do you know what there are like?? I am on a diet and egg white omlettes stuffed with veg would be really handy if the whites are OK?

I knew there was something I was forgetting in my myProtein order this morning. Ah well, I can get them next time.

Does anyone know what the Thickener (Guar Gum) is that's listed in the Two Chicks products and how much of it's actually in it? It seems to be of a similar price to myProteins product which has 100% egg whites - although you do have to buy 6kg when buying from them.

I've used the Two Chicks egg whites and find them very like normal egg whites, but perhaps they whisk a little more easily. If there is thicken in it, it's a very small amount.

I use the egg white for making various protein ice-creams and dessert. Whisk 100ml of egg white till stiff, mix a scoop of your favourite protein with about 50ml or less of cream/milk/coconut milk until it is smooth, then fold into the egg white until it's the same colour all over, divide into individual portions and freeze.

If I want egg whites, I just buy a rake of the tesco value eggs, and throw the yolk out. Would buying the cartons of egg whites save me any cash? Last time I checked (couple of years ago) it was way cheaper ust to go with the tesco value eggs, discarding the yolks.

The egg whites from myprotein and bulk powders are better for putting in a shake

For cheap eggs, no. I usually buy a 12 egg box of small free-ranage eggs for €2 and throw out the yolks myself. For some reason, with small eggs, you see have very small yolks and lots of white. But taking out yolk neatly is a bit of an art, some people might prefer to buy the carton.
