    Left one hangs lower for me... think it's a case that if you're right handed, your lefty hangs lower and vice-versa if you're left-handed. Dunno how true that is, but it is a fact that in most (all???) men, one will hang a bit lower than the other.

    I heard this happens so that it's easier for men to cross their legs without catching themselves. How nice of nature to be thinking of us so kindly.

    That's not fact.

    The fact is the left one hangs lower for the majority of men.

    As for me, I hate stepping on them repeatedly, so have to carry them in a wheelbarrow.

    There is definitely a deviation here. I've been looking at them for a good ten minutes and the right one is further away than the one on my left. Of course, it only took me a minute to see that, the other nine minutes were spent in appreciation.
