No, no one ever gives me flowers.

Sometimes I buy myself flowers and act all surprised when they're delivered.

Meh, there's a good chance of scoring when you're out that night

    Jaysus, I hate Valentines day...

Fecking pointless! I fail to see why I need to make on day of the year special, if you only make an effort one day of the year for your relationship whats the point in being in one?

There will be no cards, flowers, over priced dinners or heart shaped rubbish coming into this household! Hate all the bullsh1t nonsense!

It's OK, let it all out. It's all right if you're ugly. There's plastic surgery...

Hate it and so does Mrs S :D

Next relevant holiday/occasion for me is Easter. Don't get me started on what has become of Paddy's day! :(

The only good thing about Valentine's day is getting my exam results.

And the obligatory ride that night

From personal experience, the ones that 'bend' are better :P

Also most have a slight bend

You sound like my kinda girl. I'm 25 minutes from Maynooth.;)

Valentines' Day is approaching, I expect a huge bouquet of flower, lindt chocolate and a lovely home cooked meal - I enjoy lobster and pavlova. :D

    I enjoy blowjobs.

Meh, I see no reason to hate it, or love it for that matter. Hate is a very strong word to use for something you can just ignore.

I'll make a deal with you. I'll kick the waiter in the balls to distract him so we can make a break for it.

I've broke up with 2 girlfriends in and around Valentine's day due to me refusing to acknowledge it. First girl got all pissed off on the evening of Valentine's day and called me cheap. So I finished with her there and then. The other was the day before it when I told her I won't be getting cards or presents. She got into a big hissy fit saying she deserved to be spoilt on the day. So that was the end of her.

Current girlfriend hates it as much as I do. Asked very early in the relationship. So I won't be doing a thing for it.

I'd prefer to receive Lidl flowers for no occasion rather than overpriced roses on Valentine's Day.

Dunno about that! I prefer V-day when I'm single. When I'm in a relationship I have to explain to all the nosy people around why I don't "do" Valentine's Day. There's only so many times I can fully enjoy my anti-commercialism/death to Hallmark rant!

I see it as a necessary evil.

Simple fix though, Mrs Ghandee loves it, so Mr Ghandee here buys a bunch of flowers, brings home a nice bottle of plonk and a takeaway.

We eat take away together, wife drinks wine, goes to bed half cut at around nine/Ten.

Leaves me to drink pre-chilled beers on the couch, watching sopranos boxset in peace.

    Result all round!

Based on the last sentence, I believe she called you Cheat, not Cheap.

For the first time in 5 years I'm not single on Valentines Day (only as of last week - yeah me :)), so even though I wouldn't typically go along with the whole idea of the thing, I don't really want to be seen as a miserable bollox.

I will be referring to VD this year as 'Tuesday'....work during the day, football that night i.e. the usual!

Even when I was in any kind of relationship I hated all the VD crap and rarely did anythng for it. It's an even bigger load of bollix than Arthur's Day

Personally I think lavish Valentines day gifts are compensating for something. I have no problem buying and receiving presents when there's an occasion like Christmas or a birthday but Valentines day is a prime example of a Hallmark holiday.

I used to love it. Eh what's not to love pressies when it is not your birthday or Christmas and a little romance in the air.

These days I am bitter and twisted so and it's not as much fun celebrating it solo. In fact in the lead up to this Valentines Day this year I am going to place doubt in friends minds about their so called "happy" relationships.....see if I can get a few more people to join my bitter and twisted gang....

The words, "It will never last" usually do it! You won't need to say or do anything else :P

Ah, the oul, "I don't care about Valentines Day" line.

I wouldn't fall for that one if I were you!

Followed up a few days later with "I could have sworn I saw your Jimmy in a pub in town last week but when I went over to talk to him he made a run for the door with what must have been a girl from work......I MUST have been mistaken, it was very like him though....!"
