I got the last bag in Lidl Mullingar today :-) looking forward to having kale chips. The ones you had DCD are dehydrated rather than baked. I have had my eye on a dehydrator for a while :-)

Oh yeah, get one & you can make us all some jerky!

My mother wants to know what to get me for my birthday so I reckon a dehydrator & a hair straightener might be the order of the day :-)

Omg the kale is FAB! Ate a whole trays worth :o I couldn't taste the lemon zesta t all but I was a bit heavy handed with the salt....I think other flavours could work well - chilli flakes?

Dinner is comfort noodles with added bacon, like a paleo carbonara :)

Super friggin tasty. 2 courgettes only need 2 eggs, 3 as in recipe would have been too many. The almond crumb was surprisingly nice. I'm thinking of doing it with cinnamon instead of salt for on top of my fruit& yogurt.

Day 1 almost over and I'm proud to say I've notched up 7 veg + 4 fruit

Lunch was a very veggie omelette

and I did things like adding frozen berries to my protein shake.

Definitely keep the brain working on how to get those totals high. Bought lots of veg in Aldi today so looking forward to tomorrow.

you should put the recipes up as well as pics .. look yummy .. use an excel chart

No one needs a recipe for an omelette, do they?

Lovely weekend brekky! There's a recipe of well fed that used ground almonds & dessicated coconut, which sounds delish.

What's everyone planning for dinner?, I'm at a loss...

Yeah I made mine with 3 eggs, almond flour coconut flour, drop of vanilla essence and half a tsp of honey (prob not really needed) and altered the consistency with cocnut milk!

I made a lovely beef stew last night with plentiful leftovers so im thinking a reheat may be on the cards!

DCD you have links to some great sites!
I fried off fab fresh mackerel which I've not seen around much on the fish counters these days but damn it's yummy. Steamed some sprouts and cauliflower and spinach and stirred in a little smoked sundried tomato paste. So yummy in my tummy:)

I just google my core ingredient + paleo :)
The chops were delish I must say and the marinade was great poured over my veg.
Have a veggie friend coming over for lunch on tues, what to cook? A nice soup? A great egg dish?

Crustless quiche is always a favourite with my veggie friends along with a nice dressed salad.

Peppers, tomato, onion, courgette and gouda cheese is such a tasty combo. Bit of potato (I use white but sweet might be nice!) will take it into frittata territory. Dollop of cream in there will make the mixture rise as it bakes. Hungry just thinking about it!

As a former vege, my staple din dins of choice was whatever veg were at hand, stock cube, tin of tomatoes, various herbs, garlic, pinch of sugar and whatever tin of beans/chickpeas/lentils u have. Boil it up and bobs you're uncle. Keeping it paleo could be tricky if not eating legumes but you cud just leave your portion aside.

    Easy comfort food!

    Lunch planned
    nibbles of crispy kale
crust-less quiche & salad, and maybe salsa verde
and some of those yummy cinnamon coconut chips after.

So another Monday and another step on the journey. This week I'm going to combine 2 steps

    6. Once you nail steps 1-5, only THEN remove ALL wheat and wheat gluten. (Read labels. But if you’re eating whole foods, there should be no labels.)
    7. Once you’re comfortable with both the no-wheat groove and carbs from veggies/fruit, take out all other grains — oats, rye, barley, etc. (Rice is usually well tolerated so the occasional sushi probably won’t break you.)

I haven't had any off the above for several weeks asfair. Probably the hardest is the bread. Sometimes I'd just love a slice of nice buttery toast....but I always rem Sarah Fragoso saying that if you do cheat to make sure it's not with gluten as it takes weeks to get your gut lining back to where it was.

DCD… that’s exactly what I do.  I google the protein and paleo.  If I transfer all the recipes that I like the look of into Pepper Plate (so that I can use them again) and I get on with making one.  I have cooked side loin lamb chops in the freezer and need to think of something to do with them for dinner during the week.

I made dinner for a friend on Saturday night and it was fab.  We had slow cooked lamb shanks served on cauliflower mash with parsnip chips and pan fried with garlic.  There was wine in the slow cooker but I left the maple syrup out of the original recipe and it was just as good.  I was really impressed with the cauliflower mash (I had made it earlier in the week with frozen cauliflower and it was a complete non event) and will be eating plenty of it in the future J

I made coconut chips with garam masala and while it was nice it was a bit of a non event and wouldn’t bother again.  I have eaten both of the bags of coconut that I bought last week (as I said DCD, the one I got for you wouldn’t go to waste) and the tall boy even took some to school with him on Friday (and said he would have it again J ).  I have to go to the health food store later and get more.

If your vegetarian friend eats eggs I would go with the breakfast loaf without bacon.  Serve it with a side salad and you are on a winner.

My reaction to wheat over the weekend was uncomfortable & unbecoming.

Nice thread here! Started eating Primally myself a few weeks ago after stumbling across and then spending many many hours reading Marksdailyapple. Have cut out all the rubbish and am generally eating pretty well..

Started the day today with a BulletProof Coffee! I must say it was absolutely fantastic and I felt energised all day. Drank it at 10.30am and didn't get hungry again until 4.30pm believe it or not. I used about 40g of Unsalted Avonmore butter and about a tablespoon of Coconut Oil.. threw that in a blender with 2 cups of coffee and drank.. seriously haven't felt that energised in a long time. It's definitely on the menu again for tomorrow and is a great way to consume extra fat.. just maybe don't let others in the house see you add tons of butter to coffee :pac:

Actually, something i've always wanted to ask aloud!

Since going primal a few years back, I get a runny nose when i'm full! weird its like an indicator to stop eating,

I'm sorry but that sounds horrible!! Is it actually nice to drink?
Next you will be telling me to add brown sauce to tea ;)

I've heard of coconut oil or MCT oil in coffee but not butter. ewwwww!!

It actually is very nice to drink. Very creamy and not unlike coffee with lots of cream. The actual concept of butter in Coffee does sound strange I admit and I get similar reactions when I tell people but well.. just give it a go! I have honestly never had so much energy from coffee. Has to be unsalted though, Avonmore is the only one I have found.

People have no problem with Cream in coffee and butter is just whipped cream if you think about it..

There is a huge thread about it here if you don't believe just me!

It's also a great way to add fat to the diet.. Proper Paleo should be 60%+ of calories from fat after all.

That sounds vile. Thank God I'm dairy free LOL.

Without adding fat to my coffee I'm hovering between 55% & 65% fat just from what I'm eating so I'm happy to stick to straight coffee. :-)

I'm in love with cauliflower mash :-) I'm thinking of making paleo colcannon tomorrow.

I bought my dehydrator last night & should have it by the end of next week. I can't wait to make vegetable crisps. Fingers crossed it will be a way to get no wheat carbs into the tall boys lunch box.

Oh Redisle! I have to say it doesn't do it for me, I love my coffee but I prefer to have it on the side and the fats on my plate :D This morning I had bacon & avocado , I tossed the avo in the bacon fat in the pan & it was yummy.

My friend was over & we really enjoyed our paleo lunch, she loved the cruncy kale & the quiche was fab. Annoyingly I forgot to serve the salsa with it after all the trouble I went to making it

    f7de9ba1.jpg

Going to a moroccan restaraunt for dinner & have reccied the menu & should be aok - chicken livers with preseved lemons to start , and moroccan meatballs served with eggs for main.

Bacon & avocado sounds yummy :-)

OK people... I have frozen cooked side loin lamb chops & need to turn them into dinner tomorrow. Ideas please...

I can't marinade the cooked chops... next please...

I had my Tuesday night steak dinner. It was yummy :)

I'm tempted to go the lamb kebabs route for tomorrow.

I was only referring to the accompaniments. I'd just reheat the chops in a pan in butter.

What do you all usual have for lunch in work?

This is usually where I fall down when doing low carb

HOLD THE MERINGUE!!! Wow, you're amazing! I'd have had to rock in the fetal position in the corner of the Restaurent if I was faced with that. Meringues and me have sone history, some pretty, some not so! Well done you!:)
