Not long ago I seen him in the local Superquinn with a Bray tracksuit on (Was playing for Drogs at the time) buying donuts.

If he proves a success over there it'll be mental to see the league having to battle with Oil backed clubs for their best players

He definitely can't declare for Ireland. He has played in an international friendly for Libya and is over 21.

The Pan Arab Games squad he was in was a B team I think. I'm not sure if they count.

I didnt think international friendlys counted? I assumed it had to be a competitive game.

Correct. That's why McCarthy got about 80 seconds against Macedonia last March. Up till then, he could have chosen to play for Scotland. So if Zayed has played 4 times for Libya, but in no competitive matches (ACoN qualifiers/finals, WC qualifiers/finals) for them, then he is still elligible for Ireland.
