For the last 18 months I've had disappearing audio in the car, common problem with the radio module amplifier in the boot hidden behind the boot wall. Cracked solder joints cause the sound to go when going over a bump or when the boot lid is closed. Had to nudge the unit through the wall with a screw driver handle to get it to come back, only to go again a few days later.

Bit the bullet and re-soldered every single solder joint on underside of the board about 3 weeks ago and it hasn't disappeared once. :)

So happy as it was the only thing wrong with the car and was SO annoying.

Fiesta. Gone to someone who has more use for the extra doors than me. They're quite happy with the car! Back in my van for a while :)

I'll be selling more as I need the room, you might see another one on dd or adverts ;)

Brought the car into a garage to check out the sticking caliper - got more sorted than expected

Turns out the wishbone bolt/nut was loose - tightened up, other side checked for good measure.

    Front wheels balanced

Caliper carrier was filed down a little, the pads weren't moving freely against it, pads were also filed down slightly, some copper grease and everything is lovely again.

Car now feels more than perfect to drive

There seems to be a little play in the wishbone bushings, nothing major, so he advised against a 4-wheel alignment unless the bushings are sorted first.

    You don't want to know...:P

780, got a good price as some of them are 850-900 on ebay. Seems to be premium for the latest ones.

Nice setup. Bit strange that the power symbol rotates with the knob, could they not have kept it centred. :D

    Yip don't probably way cheaper.

For some reason the skoda units are cheaper, those red lights must be costly to make :P

Found out the colour i want can't be got in the cheaper paint, so the whole job is going to cost €800 to do instead...

Slightly tempted to leave it in it's primer guise for a while...

i'll see how my week pans out.
