Newspaper Journalists = SCUM OF THE EARTH

Now that the truth has come out that the Polish girl was not the welfare tourist as the media stated she was is it time for us as a society to turn our backs on the media in the country once and for all?

Considering that if they are not lying on behalf of the Government(s) policy, then they are whipping up hysteria over nothing. Why do people still buy these rags?

Newspaper journalists are essentially the scum of the earth. I am sorry, but all the ones I have met were. Both broadsheet and tabloid - I never met one whom I would trust to ask the time of day.

I know that is a broad brush and I guess there might be some healthy individuals drawn to that profession - but from my own personal contact with them over the years that are generally weasely, vile propagandists with proto-psychopathic tendencies and ****-stirring parasites for the most part.

With the Irish ones - being the most scummy and hysterical on earth. Sorry if I have offended anyone, but as soon as this story broke I knew it wasn't as cut and dry as the gargle and nicotine-encrusted dirtbags of media were making it out to be. Trying to whip up anti-immigrant rabbles. What this Polish girl wrote lots of Irish people do the same. They take time out to restart their lives. Not her fault Ireland has genourous social benefits. Good luck to her. I hope she starts her business and becomes a success.

Here is a comment on the Polish Waitress story, which is now being hastily removed from newspaper sites.

Hello, I think the authors of this paper should get a better translator.

** In the original article it says that Donegal is the most beautiful place for some and the biggest s**thole for others. A slight difference that makes huge change to how article reads.

** In the article it says that Magda used to sleep till noon but now everyday she goes to the beach to see the sunset as it energises her for the day ahead.

** She was working and paying taxes before she quit her job, so it is somewhat wrong to accuse her of welfare tourism.

** She is thinking about opening a massage parlour, she learned Hawaiian massage on courses provided by the government

** On the third page the author asked her if she had problem with living from the dole. Her answer was : "Yes, I have a problem with that. I treat it more like a help to change my life and start my own business".

There are more and more discrepancies that completely twist the meaning of article and put Magda and others in the bad light.

Anyway I am off to work, so I can pay my taxes for her and others who are on the dole.

You'd like to think she does actually exist.......coming out the exotic Donegal surf a light shade of blue with nipples that would take yer eye out.......

I have an issue with this comment she makes,
"Yes, I have a problem with that. I treat it more like a help to change my life and start my own business".

Now, I'm probably being pedantic here, but her first call of priority should be finding a job, not trying to start a business. Starting a business takes a lot of time and a lot of money and invariably has a lot of risk. She appears to be willfully sitting on the dole as she learns her skills and gathers investment to start her own business.

I think the intent is good but the Dole should not allow for you to delay opportunities of employment as you chase your goals.

Like I said, I'm probably being pedantic, but it does raise my eyebrow. I'm not fully opposed to what she's doing but I think she should be looking for a job right now, not for a business venture.

donegal has no jobs and banks arent lending to start up companies. If she manages to start up her own place and manages to employ one or two other people, taking them off teh register then that is a net gain to all

Well maybe that is the way of stopping these scum. Don't believe everything you read in newspapers.

Although I agree that there are a lot of scummy rags out there, they're writing for a particular readership. Unfortunately a lot of idiots want validation for their own knuckle-dragging racist views.

    Newspapers........ yesterdays lies today.

The vast majority of stuff printed in them these days are just opinion pieces or government press releases.

Yes, we should all hide in our wardrobes with buckets over our heads in case we hear more evil media lies.

Down with this kind of thing.

People expressing anger at uninformed sweeping statements about immigrants... by making uninformed sweeping statements about journalists.

no newspaper will ever give you the real news when vested interests that come from their advertisement revenue muddy the waters...

Well, if my own dealings with a couple of journalists are anything to go by, then the OP's opinion isn't a million miles off. Integrity, honesty and journalism are not always good bedfellows.

The bad journalists out there give the "profession" a very bad reputation.
