In 5 years of COD, just put in arguably my worst session of games :o

I know the feeling...had one good game yesterday with the striker but died one off a moab...the rest of my games were ****e :(

Had a few games on Friday night with the gang I played Black Ops with, first time really in a good while, for what used to be a weekly session. Anyway, we lasted about 45 minutes before getting annoyed with it and ended up back on Black Ops. Wish I hadn't paid for the hardended edition, no one on my friends list plays MW3 anymore, and until it came out, I'd regularly have 5-15 online playing Blops.

Although I found blops well balanced I also found it a bit meh..none of the guns or levels were anything to get overly excited about.Im having more fun running around like a headless chicken in MW3.

I think one of the biggest let downs for MW3(and indeed alll CoD's) is the player base.It just attracts the worst of the online gaming community.

Im not sure if they have low IQ and cant understand the concept of capping flags, protecting the flag carrier or taking air support out(and not going for a jog in the open when a pavelow si floating above them)or they are just fuktards going after their kills and having a buizz using glitches and generally being a douche bag...

Got a lend of this for the week today and my first impressions - from the first two hours TDM play - aren't as awful as I thought they'd be from reading this thread.

The only real head scratchers so far are the stackable killstreak rewards - but as I've said before it's not that first time that IW have ignored obvious improvements from Treyarch. Not really messed around with the support streaks either so I'm not sure how I feel about that.

The maps seem okay to me as well, BLOPS probably had the least amount of maps I actually liked but they were fairly well balanced and I've yet to see how MW3 compares. Although having said that nothing so far has jumped out at me in the way I instantly knew that Summit or Firing range would be a series favourite.

Guns feel meaty compared to BLOPS, but the amount of players using dual SMGS is irritating.

I forget how in was in MW2, but was it this easy to unlock the pro perks? Within an hour I had two unlocked already - Slight of hand and Quickdraw - Much prefer how BLOPS makes you work for your PRO perk.

Did a small bit of messing around with survival and thought it wasn't great. The first few rounds the enemies might as well be armed with toothbrushes given the damage they seem capable of doing.

There's also this strange vibe I get off the whole package. That it's slightly got the whiff of being low budget when compared to MW2. Its got a weird direct to video feel compared to MW2 blockbuster presentation, you'll find no Hans Zimmer score here. You can almost see Activision cutting the corners knowing that it'd still sell.

I loved Zimmer's score for MW2 but Brian Tyler did a good job on the MW3 one as well, I love this track, its as good as anything on the previous game:

    this too:

I thought the cutscenes and look of the game was fine, tied in nicely with MW2, the menus and icons/callsigns arent as good as the previous one though, prefered the brighter look of MW2's screens.

Mw2's maps were nicer on the eye alright, mw3 has kz2 syndrome.

Hopefully they start banning people for that soon, I ran into a guy last night with it on the MK14 aswell and it was bullsh*t tbh one shot kills everytime.

Yup the MK14 is one of the best guns in the game. Not sure what the problem is with damage. It'll wreck you without it and even suppressed. (oh just saw there's some glitch you can use with damage on ARs and snipers - wasn't aware of that and don't want to know)

Was really enjoying the spas this prestige and then unlocked the striker. *sigh* easy mode engaged. It just renders all other shotguns obsolete. A mate is unlocking the gold camo for all the SGs. He has a Moab with the AA12 and was two kills shy of one with the models. He reckons the KSG is easily the worst gun in the game. Having tested it out I have to agree. You can shoot someone from 5 feet away and not get a hitmarker - t'is really weird at times.

Not like you. Game can kick you when you're down. Was on a bad run over the weekend and spawned into a random grenade. Put pad down .....walked out of room :)

Honestly the number of pads I've twisted into two is embarrassing. This was before I clanned up and from my MW2 days.

Very rarely play without the clan now, tis the only way to go. It's a b!tch playing with people who do not/are physically incapable of capping a flag, come on ffs, it's not that hard!!

Check the surrounding area, once clear, plop your arse on the ground and boom!! You've successfully capped the f*ckin' flag, woopdi-f*ckin-doo!!!

Rant over, back to my happy place

Arkaden is one of the worst maps for camping
    Multiple spots

Really, have noticed a few campers alright but wouldn't say the map is rife with them. Always see lads been a bit tactical and holding a certian spot/area, don't consider that camping.

Could just be me own personal experience.

Aye, Arkaden is alright from my experience. Spawning is mental especially around the 2nd floor near A flag and C flag. So it might come across as camping when it fact people are constantly respawning outside or in construction. Usually the part of the map where the majority of action takes place.

Arkadens one of the few playable maps

I love the little stretch between C and B flag, nice little hunting ground :P

the statue on the high ground area over by A flag is a fantastic sniping spot, you can cover the flag and watching people flanking over by B as well. I dont really count snipers as camping, its what snipers are supposed to be doing, support from afar. I played BF3 over the weekend and its proper sniping in that, off on a hill miles away picking people off not running around with a gun bigger than you and owning guys with assault rifles.

Well Arkaden used to be my favourite map but now I'm always finding guys either sitting behind that deli counter,up on the height watching b,up on those umbrella things in the corners(as you go to C),in that lounge place beside b either on or between the seats,in those spots just at the top of the escalators....there's spots everywhere for them

Day 2 of this and I'm getting into it at all. It has that same ADHDness that MW2 suffered from i.e. constant explosions and stuff going on that isn't gunplay. To it's credit it's not the noobtube fest that 2 is.

play hardcore, its a different beast. I'm back on mw2 and seriously, its noobtube central, ground wars are ridiculous, chopper, harriers, pavelows, nukes every other game, all from OMA tubing gimps. its like people arent arsed trying to play it properly anymore, I did have a hoot on a no gravity map earlier though.

    Only just noticed this haha.

Lack of interest to play (forcing the rank up another 10 ranks before selling it.. odd I know :p) and juggling Battlefield as well as COD is the main issue really, and yes, the game can kick you down alright :)

I missed this post too. Downloaded the entire soundtrack in November. Listened to it nearly daily for a month!

Russian Warfare (the full version) and the music for when
    Soap
dies are my favourite two pieces by far.

aye Russian Warfare is the standout track on it for me, loved that level anyway and the music just made it even better.
