Use facebook to keep in contact with my friend in England, aside from that I'd probably get rid of it.

I have a twitter as well but I just use that to creep people out.

I do neither.twitter,I don't get twitter.my friend follows Jack Wilshire from arsenal and all he does is post pictures of his dinner.exciting stuff.as for Facebook my lady says I should be on it.I disagree strongly.I already talk and go for pints and play ball and socialize with the people I want in my life.don't see the point in spending hours communicating with people ya couldn't give 2 plops about and they not care about you.as for photos and all that its very nosey.I don't like the jist of it at all at all.

What rubbish? if you're not subscribed you don't see it.
Quite true, knowing who is decent to follow and who posts crap isn't always obvious though. I gave it a try and found it lacking *shrugs*

I'm also coloured by people quoting twitter as a source for things and it inevitably turns out to be rubbish.

Deleated my facebook account a couple of years ago. Never joined twitter. Couldn't see the point of either.

Friends who used to once catch up with me by texting or calling or meeting up got lazy and instead left me lazy and innane comments on facebook. I got tired of pretending to be friends with people i rarely talked to outside of facebook and decided to leave. One of the best decision i ever made!

Wow I thought I was the only one!!:D
I don't have twitter, facebook, LinkedIn or anything of the sort!! I can stand it when your on night out and someone takes a picture of you.....2 days later all you hear from people is "hey saw you on Facebook the other night".
Like the amount of times I'm after telling people to take my picture down is unbelievable.

Now I'm off to get my pipe and slippers!

I am one of those anti facebook types but I grudgingly accept that it's better to have one than not have one. I'm at uni at the moment and it's almost impossible not to have one otherwise you're out the loop, people can't contact you over work assignments as easily, don't know about events etc.

I don't have a wall on facebook though. I don't post statuses and if people want to contact me they can message me. I think you have to be careful what you put on the internet and also the wall feature makes me think that you're on stage in a theatre with a friend and 200 people are watching. I don't like it at all.

I also don't have twitter. I used to but I gradually realised I had little interest in reading what other people were saying. The inner politics of retweeting and following back grated me. Also once some randomer gets a couple of hundred followers they start acting as if they're a celebrity saying all sorry haven't been posting I've been busy, I love all my followers yadda yadda yadda

There should be a setting so that people can't tag you in photos.
Nothing more annoying than constantly having a camera shoved in your face on nights out, grr..

I think any one who is fed up with the likes of facebook or other social networking sites isn't using them correctly or gotten the most out of them.

You just need to adjust privacy settings, block annoying people, and don't play games (block everything!). Ah, peace of mind. :pac:
That's it , and you can if you wish just add people you know in real life = exit and delete the 700 others I don't .

I don't understand twitter or Linkedin. I 'get' facebook but find it far too invasive and tedious for use on a regular basis.

As far as I know, there's a privacy setting that demands your permission before you are tagged in photos . . . Have a look and see, pretty sure there is.

No, I'm not on the Facebook or the Twitter.

It doesn't really have to be if you don't want it to be. You can block certain aspects of your profile from certain people etc. The privacy settings ARE there and CAN be changed, but people generally leave them at the default. But seriously, have a look and fiddle through them, its only as invasive as you want it to be. I'm on a Facebook 'Friend' clean up-deleting people who only added me for a nose!

I deleted my facebook profile last year. I still have a twitter account but I haven't used it in ages. The only reason I keep my twitter account is because it has an original username, ha!

I have Facebook and Twitter, don't go on them much during the day, I'm more addicted to reading the forums on Boards more so than anything else

Hate facebook and everything associated with it. I was speaking to our marketing manager last week and she was explaining how she is able to target engaged couples in Donegal on facebook with our product. As she explained more, its amazing how much info you give facebook, how they use it to sell advertising and how much money they make out of you.

Given up on Facebook, not really for me and getting far too commercial. Suppose it always was to get it a money making machine, bit like Google in that way.

Love Twitter for following football news, journalists are really into it, great source of info. Don't use it now because I was spending far too much time on it.

    Google+, nope.

Linked, nope. Can see its use.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

Ive never actually heard anyone in the real world claim they had a Twitter account!

Couldnt be arsed. Couldnt give a sh1te what celebrities think, and most of the best footballer twitters end up in the general media anyway.

I'm not on any social network. I fail to how one socialises in a room by them self or staring into a screen at 4 in the morning.

The internet and these things have actually led to a rise in narcissistic tendencies and a difficulty with delayed gratification among my generation.

If you can have any sexual fantasy you want in a second, you're going to go for it.

    Shame.

Might get rid of facebook, its good except when it comes to pictures. I was meeting this unreeeeal fit bird in propaganda there a while ago, poking her getting pokes back, loving life basically, then pics emerged from the night out(the club photos) like the monday after and i looked wrecked in them, bad skin, weird faces, the usual. your one was like ur minging hahah, last i heard from her...sound girl

p.s i have twitter and had bebo, myspace in the past. tbh i think bebo was the best, until it was ruined in around late 2007/early 2008.
