We have been telling you for the last 65 pages :pac:
Seriously tho, he's pumped tonight, and they are running great plays.

McCoy wants to be head-coach of Jacksonville. A Broncos win tonight with Tebow knocking the lights out would be great on the CV.

Fair play, he's making great calls tonight.

that quarter is the reason that tebow will always have a future in the NFL.

they were being thrashed up front, he throws a pass to his wr who gets chopped in two and spills it.

steps up next play and delivers an incredible throw (out of nowhere), followed by another incredible throw for a td....

and this in his first playoff game....

Tebow's pure showtime, when the lights are on he's at his best. When a player can cope that well with the pressure he's under why wouldn't his team want to try everything in their power to improve his deficiencies? The Broncos have some serious Tebow-themed shopping to do this off-season as well.

Alot of credit to the playcalling aswell tho.

Great game by Tebow, and to think Decker was knocked out of the game early on as well.

This game showed what aggressive play calling can do for you.
At times early on, the Steelers were bringing everyone.
It's an enormous ask of any QB to go run, run and then ask him to pick up the first down.

Can just change the name of the thread to a Bronco's thread.

Posted this in the Playoff thread but its a neat coincidence:

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Guess how many yards Tebow threw for today.... yes 316!!

When Tebow took over as starter the team were 1-4.

Since then, they've improved to win 8 and lose 4 under Tebow, with Tebow 14 TD/6 INT's, beating the Steelers who had the best ranked defence in the league in the playoffs and he threw for 316 yards and 2 TD's in the game!

Seriously, who thought Denver could even make the playoffs after watching those first 5 weeks of the season, never mind knocking the Steelers out to go one win away from the AFC Championship game?!

Say what you like about his style etc, but it's a QB driven league and he's got a team believing again and they've all chipped in and done their bit.

It's a fantastic story. If Tebow can start to consistently throw like he did tonight who knows how far he can take this. If teams don't respect his throwing game he could turn it on like he did tonight, if teams do respect it then the option offense is difficult to stop.

    Amazing stuff.

Bit all over the place though, for every game he calls brilliantly theres one with awful playcalls. Best of luck to him if he gets the job though. I notice Martz is unemployed....

Kudos to Tebow. He played really well last night and made some excellent plays against the leagues best defence. Playing the leagues worst next week, we havent a 'prayer'!

Its crazy the hype he generates though, absolutely unreal.

I just cant discount any team with home field advantage in the playoffs. I know most will in this match up. I'm an Eagles fan, so dont care either way, but playoff ball is different.

love quoting myself when I am right :D:D

Now where are all those apologies!

Actually, lets take this up a notch:

    Tebow 3:16
Broncos head coach name: John (Fox)
Broncos Executive Vice President of Operations name: John (Elway)
    Steelers time of possession: 31:06
    Tebow passing yards: 316
    Tebow YPC: 31.6
Tebow threw 10 completions in the game. 10 books after the book of John (in the Bible) is the book of Tim.
Tebow had 21 pass attempts in the game. 21 chapters in the book John.
Demaryius Thomas was born on the 25th of Decemeber, 1987.

    Tebow 316 yards

    John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

    God exists.

well done to Tebow last night. He played a good game.

The Steelers dared him to throw into one on one coverage and take away the run and he did. I think it was the right plan by LeBeau but the Steelers got no pash rush going and paid the price.

still Tebow made them pay and if he can get accurate weirdly enough last night indicated the option might work long term.

That said we need to get back to being pragmatic again he still completed under 50% and in regulation he still only threw for 236 yards.

I genuinely still believe that he isnt the answer at QB for the Broncos long term but by all means he deserves his shot next year to see if he can bring his game up to the level its needs to be to get rid of the question marks.

so for the moment Im going to sit this out and come back in with my views some point around week 8 next year.

Tebow played well last night. He took advantage of what the Steelers defense gave him and raised his game and got it done. Fair play to the lad. Hasn't made me a believer as I feel its all teamwork at this point and him getting it done on top of that. But he got it done and you cant fault his performance last night. A lot of work ahead of the kid though. If Elway and Fox fix him could you imagine what he could actually do?

Also on another note going back to the 2010 draft in hindsight looks one of their best. traded into the 22nd pick with Pats and took Thomas and traded into the 25th to get Tebow from Baltimore. As much as people didnt like McDaniels that draft looks like it is paying off for them now.

And Mods please rename this thread tot he Broncos thread already.

Thomas hasn't been that good really. We all saw that he is really really talented against the Steelers but he hasn't put up great stats, though he has been playing for Tebow/Fox. And if you're picking a QB in the first round you'd probably want to know that he's the franchise QB by now, but it's still up in the air. I know nothing on throwing mechanics, were his better yesterday (I think you complained about him taking a long time to throw it) or was his OL just really good and gave him loads of time?

Thread re-named. Since 99% relates to Tebow, I won't call it the Broncos thread.

To be fair to Thomas his rookie season was riddled with injury. I mean his opening game was perfect for a rookie 97 yds and a TD. he missed 6 games through his rookie season and never got back into the flow of things. This year the Orton Tebow thing didn't help him and with Lloyd the go to guy Thomas was never going to shine. The fact though that he is now getting it done when it matters shows the kid has talent and will be a very good asset for the Broncos.

As for Tebow he was slow at times last night and still needs a lot of work but when given time he showed he can throw a football deep. The dude still needs a lot of work but look at it this way he and that defense have them in the playoffs and are 1-0 in the playoffs so far.

As far as I am concerned that makes the 2010 first round look good for the Broncos. Could you imagine if Tebow gets fixed how much better they could be? And how much better that first round would look?

Nfl.com had an article about that tattoo. The fella with that tattoo hates tebow and bet his mate who was a tattoo artist that tebow wouldnt win 3 games before the season was out. The forfeit being if he lost he had to get a **** tebow time tattoo.. . . 3 games later he got a **** tebow tattoo.

I think this says it all as regads those intangibles I have always said Tebow has. Somebody should put these two together now.

McDaniels drafts in Denver have to be taken in total - two drafts 2009 and 2010.

    The 2009 draft was a disaster -
    Moreno - Stinks.
Ayers - decent and has improved this season
Alphonso Smith - Stinks (And off the team).
McBath - Stinks (And off the team).
Richard Quinn - HORRIBLE (Off the team/out of the NFL for a majority of the season).
    Bruton - nothing special.
Seth Olsen Stinks (off the team).
Tom Brandstater - Had potential. (off the team).
Blake Schulter - (Out of the NFL).

The only decent player in the entire draft was Ayers - and McDaniels played him out of position at OLB - he is a DE. For two year Ayers had a stinker of a time. It was only when Fox came in that Ayers moved back to his true position at DE and started to produce.

The following were the Broncos draft picks in 2010

Demaryius Thomas WR (1st Round, 22nd overall)
Tim Tebow QB (1st Round, 25th overall)
Zane Beadles OG (2nd Round, 45th overall)
    JD Walton C (3rd Round, 80th overall)
Eric Decker WR (3rd Round, 87th overall)
Perish Cox CB (5th Round, 137th overall)
Eric Olsen (6th Round, 183rd overall)
Sydquan Thompson CB (7th, 225th overall)
    Jammie Kirlew DE/OLB (7th, 232rd overall)

Six of the nine players are still on the roster - Thompson has been on IR all season.

    Of the others -
    Thomas is showing real potential
    Tebow is Tebow
Beadles is OK - an average OL
Walton is Ok - an average C
Decker was a good pick - has potential and hopefully Harrison's disgraceful hit last night won't do him permanent damage.

Both Beadles and Walton are very replaceable and are the two weakest links on the OL. Both get abused by opposing DLmen on a regular basis.

Here is the big problem with both drafts by McDaniels -
Every single pick with the exception of Decker (and Cox who is probably heading for jail) was a reach - and in some cases a major reach.

Of the first and second rounders -
Moreno - Projected at the bottom of 1st round - early 2nd round (picked 12)
Ayers - Projected at the bottom of 1st round - early 2nd round (picked 18)
Alphonso Smith - Projected at the bottom of 3rd round (picked 37 - and the McDaniels traded away the No. 6 pick in 2010 to get him)
    McBath - Projected 3rd or 4th round (picked 48)
Richard Quinn - Projected 5th round or worse (picked 64 - McDaniels traded two 3rd round picks to Pittsburgh to get him - one ended up as Mike Wallace)
Demaryius Thomas WR - Projected Bottom of 1st round or early 2nd round - with major injury question marks at the time (picked 22)
Tim Tebow QB - Projected late 2nd round or 3rd round - Jacksonville were touted as planning to take him with their 3rd rounder (picked 25 - McDaniels trade a 2nd, 3rd and 4th round pick for him)
Zane Beadles OG - Projected as a 3rd rounder (picked 45)

Not alone did McDaniels reach for practically every player he picked he signficantly over paid in the draft trade to get Smith, Quinn and Tebow.

I would suspect that in three years time when the Broncos have had a chance to rebuild the roster there will be three (or four) of these picks still in action for the Broncos-
Thomas - if he can stay healthy
    Ayers
    Decker
Tebow - the jury is still out.

Thomas probably has the most potential to become a pro-bowler - but any team should expect a better return on eight 1st and 2nd round picks

Now there is a further point to be made - the Broncos drafted Tebow because McDaniels traded Cutler and the Broncos drafted Thomas because McDaniels traded Marshall (one of the Cutler draft picks went on Smith in 2009)

    Final point -
McDaniels would never have used Tebow in the way Fox and McCoy have this season. McDaniels doesn't even know what the read-option is. McDaniels would have used Tebow to throw little bubble screen passes and running when the play broke down. It was the designed Tebow running plays that got the Broncos into the play-offs and past Pittsburgh last night.

Last night was a tale of 3 "busts" as far as the Broncos were concerned:

Robert Ayers: Branded a bust, has had a great year, 2 sacks last night
Tim Tebow: Discussed over and over again but he won a playoff game and looked awesome against the best defence there is.
Demaryius Thomas: Overcame injuries, had a breakout in the latter stages of the season (led the NFL in december for rec. yards i believe), had a monstrous outing last night.

Monumentally huge win last night, it showed that Tebow can get it done against the best and that he can improve and make the jump... not only that but he's won himself a ton of respect across the NFL and free agents will want to come to a young up and coming team that made the divisional round with an electric talent at QB.
Add in a top WR (VJ, Desean Jackson available in FA), a good running back (Forte or Ryan Grant could be available, could see us snapping up Lamicheal James in the second round) and shore up this defence a little...there'd be a real contender in the making. Add in Tebow getting a full offseason of intensive training and personal coaching by Elway himself and the next few years could be very interesting in the Mile High city. Promising times indeed. :D

you seem to completly forget O Line needs an upgrade, champ bailey and brian dawkins dont have too many years in the tank either.

still a fair bit of work for the broncos to be a very good football team.
