Do women prefer dominant or submissive men?

IME women tend to be drawn to men who possess a characteristic she feels she lacks, be it intelligence, looks, wit, popularity, humour etc etc.

I think this is why so many women are attracted to confidence in a man (rather than dominance) because, sadly, so many women lack self confidence.

What about all those captains of industry who pay good money to get tied up and whipped? Do they not have both dominant and submissive personas?

Interesting point. Also many women are attracted to men who possess the same personality traits as their Fathers. For example if a woman's Father is funny, then they will seek that in a potential partner; often subconsciously without being aware they are doing so. If a woman had a dominant Father, they will typically find submissive men unattractive.

I think its largely mythical. Tabloid journalism producing salacious stories in order to sell newspapers. I have heard that public school boys who were caned at school enjoy being caned by dominatrix's, but this is fantasy rather than reality.

I don't like timid women.
I actually like confident women that are a challenge to make submissive.
Afraid of women? No.
Why would I be afraid of women? Men are the masters. There is nothing to fear.

i dont think hes afraid of "strong" women, its just an awful lot of pointless extra work and hassle that should just be avoided.

You reap what you sow.
It takes hard work and discipline to reach a point where a woman is totally submissive to her master.
However the pleasure of that effort coming to fruition makes it all worth while.

I do think one needs to be decisive.
In society there have to be the decision makers, the leaders, the Shepherd's who lead the sheep.
Being dominant means taking the lead and being assertive and confident.
Not all of us can be of the calibre to make the decisions.
There are those who lead, and those who are led.
I see things as black and white. There is no room for compromise.
A woman must conform to a man's demands.
Men need to define clear roles in a relationship, and assert their role as master.
