I saw in Gamestop in Cork that they have it slated for a September release. Hopefully they know something we don't

I doubt they do... reckon we'll hear rumours on IGN or some such place before too long now. I'd take any date you see with a serious pinch of salt and try not to get too hyped up before inevitable disappointment.

The last GTA game was released around March/April time of the year if I remember correctly. The same with Red Dead Redemption. I think it could be early summer late spring again.

I think if it was that soon, we'd have gotten another trailer by now. I still think it'll be mid-late-Autumn.

It was only released during April as it was delayed from its original date in October. I have a feeling they'll be aiming for the October slot again, as they do with every other GTA.

Take 2 will have a large say in the release date, Max payne in march and Bioshock infinite in Oct/Nov. they arent going to release the game close to either of them or COD, July would be the most optimistic but I can see march 2013 as the release

Gotta say I'm in two minds. I lean more towards the second half of 2013 but on next gen consoles if I'm honest.

With news that devs have dropped many a current gen project at the end of last year having received shells of the next gen Xbox and PS4. I think this year, probably during the summer at E3 we will get the first official news about the next gen consoles and a possible release date will be as early as 2013. Could be horribly wrong though, and of course, I wouldn't complain about a 2012 release date!

had probably the saddest dream of my life the other day that there was a 2nd trailer that included all the other islands of San An and came in here thinking that there actually was one and now I'm really disappointed

Did I miss something? Or was that just a video of a mod that changed the car to a British Policecar, and the character as a policeman?

The person modded a pic into the background of the fairground ride. Its not massive, but is pretty cool.

Having just read the entire thread (took all night if you're wondering) I think I have an idea on who the main guy could be. Tommy would be too old but the guy in the suit looks awfully similar. No son or family was ever mentioned in Vice City and afterwards would make him too young. What about a brother? I can't remember the story with Tommy's parents but assuming they were alive when Tommy was arrested, who's to say they didn't have another son, roughly 20 to 30 years after Tommy?

With Tommy being a big bad boss in Florida, assuming they never met due to Tommy being in prison and then his life in Vice City, his brother gets jealous when he finds out about his brothers life style and tries to get in on it. Tommy rejects him so he goes to build his own empire on the other side of the country, well away from his brother. As it goes on and he builds his own empire, word gets out that he plans to go back and kill Tommy and take over there too.

CJ could be the top dog at the start and be a false ending when you surpass him. You think you've beaten the game, then Tommy shows up to try and take you out and eliminate any danger to himself, giving you a fresh storyline where you go from the hunter, to the hunted.

It could be because it's 8:30 am and I haven't been to sleep yet, but I think that makes sense and fits in with the lookalikes in the trailer

Didn't Rockstar say they were creating a new generation of characters, and that they wouldn't be using anyone from the PS2 era?

There won't be any Tommy, no CJ, or Claude.

That's what I think too. Those were all GTA3 era characters. As shown in VC and SA, Liberty City hadn't changed. It was the same continuity.

This is GTA5. We might not even see any GTA4 characters in this one.

Very unlikely I'd say, but it does fit in with the theme of false endings in R* games like LA Noire and Red Dead.... I dunno would R* get you to take over from CJ like that.... it'd be more likely that you'd be a young GSF member who becomes CJ's protegee and eventually succeeds him.

But as was said, it's very unlikely they'll reuse PS2 era characters.

i havnt actually heard its good though. i think i like gta because you can cause mayhem lol. I wonder why this game is released any ideas ?
