I've come to the conclusion that you need to either get rid of the shag carpetting or get rid of the polyester speed suits Ciderman.Your house is obviously some sort of static electricity epicenter.

Ah man, that Gamester pad brings back memories!

Around 20 years ago I found a ten pound note on the ground in a shop.

Rather than be a nice kid and hand it up to someone, I ran straight over to Advanced Vision in Quinnsworth and bought one of those Gamester pads.

Well not long after getting my 100 feedback star on ebay (buyer only), I've finally done it.

I used a sniping tool for the first time to win an auction.

Every other auction I have won, I have done manually, and you know what?

It's SOOOOO overrated. Wasting an hour in front in front of the computer staring at the countdown timer, and almost having a heart attack when your last minute bid submission fails, and you're fumbling to retype your bid in during the last 10 seconds before the bid ends.

I don't know why I have bothered avoiding sniping tools all these years,

when I could be out doing whatever the hell I want, while this convenient tool does all the hard work for me!

I might miss those heart pounding moments though, (just a little!)

I have almost 600 feedback on ebay over the last ten years, and you know what? Each time I win an auction I still almost have a heart attack in the last few seconds. It's a huge part of it.

I went to see the new Sherlock Holmes film in the cinema this evening. 8pm came and I had my phone out under my tshirt with my head in there too (yes I am that shameless), trying to snipe an auction.

I would rather go to that insane length than use an auction sniping tool. They're just no fun.

Is this the thing that lets you play real carts on emulators, & also dump said carts? Whats the dif between Retrode 1 & 2?

That's the one! They have controller ports too. I'm only really getting it as a dumping tool. No real interest in playing carts on emulators. Although, could be handy for the controller ports.

The Retrode 2 is just the second run of it. They made it look a bit more professional with injection plastic moulding and all that jazz.

I went away and ordered the Everdrive MD from retrogate last night,
$82 delivered, with a low chance of getting stung by the man (hopefully!).

Does anyone have a NON-WORKING Megadrive cart with the plastic case intact?

Or a Megadrive game that is so crappy I wouldn't feel guilty about tearing it open?

You can buy an MD game on ebay for only 3-4 euro delivered, but cannibalizing one seems like such a shame especially when most of them are classic games! :(

Rage should have a copy of something sh1te for the MD in the bargain bin, no?

I think I may have a copy of a certain game of a certain genre, it's pretty worthless imho ;)

    Thanks for the link!

It was a very close contender, but then I spotted something even WORSE from the same seller!

    ARNOLD PALMER TOURNAMENT GOLF

    $%28KGrHqN,%21k0E6By9VuVBBOsvGjvT%28%21%7E%7E60_12.JPG

The pic of his ugly mug on the cart was just asking for it!

I asked the ould fella about him as he's a bit of golf fanatic,
and he told me he designed the golf course in Tralee apparently!

This game is even worse again, but I don't think the PCB would fit it.

And now for the worst part,
sitting here in great anticipation until the day this classic game is in my hands......

This is one thing I love about buying from ebay, sometimes the packaging really doubles up well as a storage box!

    1-2.jpg

I would imagine this is going to be my one and only Shmup proto cart. Won't be my last snes one though!

Haven't played it much, but I've noticed that the 2 Unlimited soundtrack is there. Which probably means it'll be very close to the retail version.

Still, I'll be sure to go through it with a fine-toothed comb just in case.

    2-4.jpg

Gotta love a good cart case hack and some eeproms sticking out. The seller said that because of where they're placed, you can't actually put it into a Snes without taking the cart shell off :D

Well I never thought a "Eurodance" band and SNES could make such a gorgeous combination

    It's a weird combination.

The problem with it is it's a hard game. So you need to replay levels. Yet, you can only really stick music like that once or twice for the novelty factor. After that you'll be lowering the tv down.

I also got that CPS2 box too. Not nearly as impressive as the MVS ones unfortunately :(

The stickers are great, but the box itself is basically just corrugated cardboard. If you didn't know any better you'd throw it out thinking it was part of the packaging. Pretty let down with it to be honest.

I reckon the SNES can pretty much do everything the Amiga can do soundwise, maybe even more clearly.

I have yet to get my nerd hat on and compare the specs of the Paula chip to the Snes chip though!

Just got my hands(eyes really) on a scanned Neo-Geo AES/MVS developer manual.

Very interesting it is with lots of juicy dev pictures and information within :)

I'm pretty sure the SNES is far better than the Amiga in terms of sound chips. It's much better at playing samples anyway, the only thing that held it back a bit is the lack of memory on the cartridges. The Amiga could just split games across multiple discs so samples weren't an issue.

Latest edition to the man cave.
A limited edition 18" NECA Predator model (with accessories) that my brother got me for Xmas.
The pictures(and flash) probably don't do it justice but its very detailed.
