Also I can see Carroll scoring a few with Stevie G on the pitch.

I said it myself at half time, they type of fast ball Stevie swings in suits carrol perfectly, we saw a glimpse of it tonight.

I love how Enrique plays. I know this is probably premature but I don't think I would swap him for any left back in the world right now.

Great defender i think he can be a bit Jeykle & Hyde going forward though.

Good result tonight, dissapointed Carroll didnt get his goal he hasn't got a shred of confidence the difference with the service to him when Gerrard came on was unreal, if he gets that service week in week out he'll score goals.

A little bittersweet, the result tonight. The lack of class when there's no Gerrard or Suarez on the pitch is depressing. It's gas thinking back to some of the posts a while back about Gerrard "we aren't missing him" etc. A lot of people have changed their tune since then.

Out of those i'd only have Gerrard and Downing in my starting eleven. I love Kuyt. But he's past it. We need to sell him for 5m, thank him, and move on. Bellamy has never, and will never, prove to be a consistent player. There's a reason he's one of the most transferred players in PL history. Daft buy imo. Maxi Rodriguez is a utility player for me, a useful player no doubt, but not one you want to consider as part of a starting eleven week in week out. He's kind of like our Ji-Sung-Park. You want players in your squad (both young and more experienced) that are a no-brainer for the team-sheet come matchday. At the moment we don't have that, we're a couple of players short. Bent would be a huge step in the right direction imo, followed possibly by a classy out and out right winger that can get by players as well as actually cross the ball

Your thoughts please after tonights game?

Yup, it'll come eventually. Always thought Gerrard out of anyone at the club would get the best out of him. Crouch type goal vs Wigan (a complete fluke) is what will happen :pac: Needs to stay in the box more though!

Great to get 3 points at home. Gerrard, what can you say. Inspirational cameo :) The back 4, Downing and Bellamy were very good too.

I watch far too much footy for my own good, and I can honestly say he is the best LB around at this moment in time from both an attacking and defensive POV which is rare. He's so strong in both aspects. An out and out goalscorer and he'd have a good few assists this season too.

I do think Carroll will start banging them in and the majority of which will have Stevie with the assist. I also think he will stay in there if he knows the ball will actually come in. Before stevie came on the crosses were fairly poor and mostly on the ground, Stevie changed that and Carroll looked alot more dangerous than he has in a long time.

It's one of my favourite moments in a match- watching him just brush off attackers. The guy's a ****ing wall.

The way he plays the ball out at the end there with Kuyt and Reina - drips with class.

    £6m. Fooking £6m!

Not a lot to add. Good win. Was really pleased with the step up in attitude that led to the equaliser and great to see Gerrard back. He really is a special player.

I'm starting to have sexy man love for Martin Skrtle and that's not a good thing to type out loud. Great to see El Capitano back and so full of running, while I can fully understand Dalglish wanting to ease him back I dunno if we can afford that luxury. he only has to hold out till May!

Fine performances from Luis Enrique, Glen Johnson who is also really back on song this season, Jay Spearing and Craig Bellamy of course - the freebie transfer of the season.

    Jose even! ;)
Delighted with that win!! Gotta agree that skrtel clearence was unreal! him and agger have been great together! Thought Bellamy should have got MOTM though!!

Well on Tuesday they might well be starting together, so we'll see then how they interact. They haven't had a lot of game time together really in the last 11 months.

Pretty damn good stat piece on where it's going wrong! Downing doesn't come out of it as bad as I'd thought. The lack of players willing to take on their man is pretty telling. Nobody does really barring Suarez and Enrique. I suppose it shows how the football is about pass and move and a lot of counter attacking.

Funnily, backs up exactly what I was saying about Henderson and Downing.

On a brighter note, thank fook Gerrard is back - or thereabouts. I forgot how many crosses he swings in from that corner-of-the-box type area. Pure quality, pure class, and gave the team a much needed kick up the arse tonight. Well done Stevie, great 30 minutes.

    if that's true
maybe Carragher is retiring at the end of the season?

To be honest I personally think it's a load of bollocks

This type of thing often happens when a deal stalls over personal terms

It wouldn't make much sense. With Agger and Skrtel as first choice, Carra and Coates as cover, and Wisdom and Coady coming through, not to mention Danny Wilson, it would seem a daft area to spend money in

Makes no sense at all really.

Therefore i expect a 40m bid to be put forward as soon as the window opens.

I could be wrong but that might well be the agent pushing to ensure Cahill gets a good deal from Chelsea

Ya he has a touch of class about him alright. In fact I'd say he is as comfortable on the ball as anyone in the team. I find myself hoping the inevitable call up from Spain doesn't come so we can just keep him for ourselves with none of that fatigue that comes with playing for Spain these days.

I'd imagine that'd be the most likely scenario. Cahill looking for a big pay day
