    Or... by her?

Has it ever struck you that Anne Doyle and the other newsreaders can actually be responsible for their own scripts, much in the same way that newsprint journalists are?

Also, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss good diction. Anne Doyle's clarity was her greatest vocational asset.

Really Dobson said he only gets a quick read over the script, all these stories are being worked on at the same time up to the cut off point usually so I can understand.

I don't think having a say over their scripts gives them more authority or respect the same way that I would not belittle someone for "just being a newsreader" I think there is just a lot of anger here because of the RTE wasting our money/wages on going debacle. She was good at what she was asked to do compared to the others can't blame her for not being the newsreader people wanted her to be.

Was she employed by RTE or was she on short-term contracts? Afair a previous long-term newsreader, Charles Mitchell, had no pension from RTE.

She wasn't bad looking in her day, would definitely have given her one back then.

I'd give her one right now

@later10, I don't know of his personal cash value but he's not broke, as far as I can tell. I don't know if he's been NAMA'd or anything. Maybe AD just loves him for his warm smile, big langer and ability to eat and not belch at the same time. Who knows?
