    Packers 26-7 Raiders.

Seriously pissed off I lost my defensive shutout in this one. Niballer went deep near the end which my safety picked off, then in good spirit I dived to the ground instead of trying to return and the sap fumbled the ball :(

Good game mate. Enjoyed it and I'm sure with a few trades you can get that team going.

Saints @ Titans and the Titans receive first.
The Titans make a good first play.. The coach pauses to eat a slice of toast the connecion goes.

Saints @ Titans The Saints receive but end up punting. The Titans make good progress but have to punt and down it at the Saints 1

Sanchez gets hit in the end zone.. fumbles and no Titan can get to it and the Titans get a safety.

The Titans get the ball to 4th and 1 on the Saints 10... go for it.. dont get it

The Titans make 3 yards but have to punt, 3:45 on the clock in the half

Orton and Bush combine air and ground to get Jared Cook in for a TD with 1 min left.

The Titans D stops the Saints doing much and they have to punt with half a min left.

Orton tries to go short but gets picked off!!!!
Thanksfull the Titans though over committed for the throw manage to the receiver.

On the next play.. the Saints make it big but TJ Hoooshis tackled at the 5 to prevent a a TD, the Saints come away with a FG

Titans receive and Cosby breaks through pretty much the whole Saints team for a return TD!!
    3-15 Titans

The Titans again struggling in the air when its sent long and ultimately the Saints get in for a TD

    10-16 Titans

The Titans d-line struggles with the run now and allow the Saints in for a TD with 2:34 in the game left 17-16 Saints

Titans receive and Orton very quickly gets them in long FG range, Bush who's had a good game for the most part is handed the reponsibility of gaining some previous extra yards on the ground to make the FG a formality he does a good job but the Titans have to go through the air to make sure of a new 1st down.

Vinateri gets a 42 yard FG to put the Titans 2 points up with 17 seconds left and the Saints having no TOs

Lito Sheppard comes up with a last second Int and after what happenend with the Packers earlier on the game day, Sheppard burns it out of bounds!

    Some Stats:

Total offense yards was 201 titans against 239 saints with 217 of those in the air and the Titans with 119.

The 3rd down coversion rate was 44% for the Titans and a very bad 16% for the Saints.

Orton completes 50% of his passes for 125 with 1 Td and 1 Int, sanches is a little better but same TD/int

Bush gets an average of 3.5 yards per carry from 24 attempts.

Unsurprisingly the Saints dominate the receiving stats.

Sanches gets sacked 3 times and Willis and Hali both have decent games.

    Onwards to the Play Offs!!!

need to do myself a favour too, really hoping to get that #2 seed

Ravens crush the Colts. Rivers loses a fumble and throws interceptions at either end of the field.
Defence was OK but my offence killed me today, couldn't get anything done.

what was the score? play offs just got a lot tougher for the titans and texans. I think ill need to win my 3 remaining games against my afc rivals and first up is the colts (i think).

With the ravens winning their match against the Colts, the Browns are now officially out of playoff contention for the #6 wildcard :(

If I had won my last three matches and Mike had lost his then we would have both been been 8-8.
    Tiebreaker Rules

*Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
    Would have been 1-1
*Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
    Would have been 3-3
*Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
Ravens would be 5-3, Browns would be 4-4
*Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    *Strength of victory.
    *Strength of schedule.
*Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
*Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
*Best net points in common games.
*Best net points in all games.
*Best net touchdowns in all games.
    *Coin toss

I have two matches that could be important for who I'm playing though. The ravens will be looking for the #6 seed, or maybe #5 or even to top the division. He will be looking for a win anyway. And then I'm facing the Cardinals, who I'm sure Adrian would like me to beat :D
What's a win worth to the pair of ye, I'm open to offers :pac: :pac: :p:p:D

Joking by the way, just incase 5 smilies weren't enough to tell.

Just for the heck of it, and because I've nothing better to do. I've done up a spreadsheet that calculates each teams, Strength of Schedule (Total), SOS (Remaining), Strength of Victory, Strength of Losses, playoff rankings/scenarios and all that useless stats stuff.

The Ravens coach is a forgiving sort but eventually lost patience with Donavan McNabb and benched him last two games.
Rather then blame the man behind the controller it's cleary the QB's fault :p
Denis Dixon did an adequate job and eeked out two narrow wins

With a tight play off race ahead, the BigBadRobs Bengals atop the division and a bitter wildcard race with the Titans and Texans it was time to go for experience and McNabb returned as stater

Ravens games have been typically low scoring, nervy affairs and the team who makes the first mistake loses.
Turnover going another way and it's likely the Browns and the Niners would have defeated the Ravens recently.

Ravens committed to the run game with Thomas Jones which is in the top five for TD's among backs. :)
But the Colts, a long bitter rival going back to Jim Irsay and their chequered history were up to the task, the Colts linebackers shutting down any runs.

Colts are more aggressive and with Philip Rivers under center had 25 pass attempts.
But with the best safety tandem of Eric Berry and Eric Weddle  and two blazing fast corners, it was not a good day for Rivers, 8 for 25, 138 yards and two picks

Anyway, first quarter was a nervous, tight affair, teams trading possessions and Colts up by a FG. I swore it was short but it cleared the bar, then hit the middle bar behind. Not sure how to describe it, hope that's clear

Ravens receive and patiently drive up the field. McNabb decides to throw the bomb, a 40 yard pass but Robert Meachem was never open and it's a pick.

Two three and outs later, Ravens punt the ball and it goes out within the five, decent punt. :)

Rivers backed up and is nearly taken down for a safety. Ravens go to Cover Two zone and MLB Jonathon Goff picks with an INT. Thomas Jones powers it in a few plays later

Onto the second half and Ravens look to run the ball and Colts use their high flying pass offense which has carried them to number three in the leaguemanager power rankings. Philip Rivers is third in the league and heading for the leaguemanager Pro Bowl with 2700 yards so it's clearly successful. Not today I'm afraid

McNabb throws over forty yards to the endzone for a TD to Steve Smith. Right on the sideline, I'll be honest I didn't think it was a TD and Colts wisely challenged.
But ruling on the field upheld and it's 14-3

And that really was the end of it.

Colts had to go for the pass and James Farrior with another pick and my DE Campell with a fumble recovery races most of the field for a TD.
BIG MAN WITH THE FOOTBALL :D

Mario Williams with two sacks bringing more pressure.

Ravens ran mostly for the rest of the game with the odd play action and got another Thomas Jones rushing TD

Fourth quarter raced by, take a knee, it's over.

Good game McG, you still have the 2 seed so it's looking good for you.
We had mics but I couldn't hear you, awful static/inteference. Not sure if the issue is my side or your side
Best of luck anyway, you all but have a playoff place locked up

Titans won also so are level with Ravens but crucially the Ravens have the tiebreaker.
The key game this week is Texans and Bengals.

Must do a prediction but I'm not on Dave's level with those

Some key games coming up. I would go out on a leg to say if the Texans lose against the Bengals then they have no chance of the play offs. Given they have to play the Colts and Titans and wins against both are probably going to be tough to get.

However.. a win for the Texans will really make things interesting! That will put them on 8-5 along with the Titans and Ravens but in third place due to losses to the Titans and Ravens.

Then the Titans have a very tough but no doubt enjoyable game against the Colts and the Texans have what looks like on paper an easier game. The Ravens should have a win against the Chargers.

Week 16 sees the Ravens take on the Browns which will be a very tight game and a potential banana skin! If the Titans have managed a win against the Colts the previous week and the Ravens do slip up, the Titans face the CPU Jags who they should be able to overcome.

The Texans have a very tough game against the Colts.

And then Week 17 where in all reality I think the final Wild Card will be decided.

    Ravens @ Bengals
    Titans @ Texans

If all teams are on the same record at this point the final wild card spot will be up for grabs.

The Titans and Texans will know that they will need a Ravens loss and if that happens... then the winner of the Titans/Texans matchup will get the final spot!

    Exciting times:p

Dave is the master of these but I'll make an attempt

bobarena who had the Bengals last Madden season is missed but BigBadRob been a revelation and stormed to the top of the division.
Bungles no more and are 9-3

Texans are also strong this year and are embroiled in a bitter wildcard race at 7-5 with the Titans and Ravens.

    Offense
Bengals are fifteeth in passing and nineteeth in rushing. A nice balanced offense.
However despite the respectable passing yds, Jay Cutler is being um, well Jay Cuter I suppose, 10 TDs but 19 INTs. However numbers are decieving and maybe Bengals rush more in the red zone, lets have a look.

Yes, that's it there, Michael Turner beasting it this season with 13 rushing TDs. Bengals are a powerhouse when rushing in the redzone.
No real notable Bengals WRs, Aaron Hernandez leads the team with 742yd. Rushing and passes to the TE, yes this is AFC North football
Lets those wimps in AFC South mess around with their high flying offenses :D

Houston are fourteeth in both rushing and passing so putting up higher numbers. Adrian Peterson with an excellent 870 yds and 11 TDs while the pass first strategy can be looked with 9TDs and 17Ints from Sam Bradford

    Defense
Games often come down to the turnover battle and who makes the least mistakes, lets have a look at the D FENCE

    Bengals
Here in the AFC North we play mean, brutal defense and the Bengals have embraced this, seventh against the pass and sixth against the run. Now that's impressive
I don't have a star player for this defence, more of a team effort but Patrick Chung SS is heading for the league manager probowl

    Texans
This is worrying, seventeenth against the pass and twenty third against the run. Oh dear, can the Texans owner hire Wade Philips to come in and sort the D? :D
Incredibly, Texans have two players heading to the leaguemanger probowl, linebackers LaMarr Woodley and AJ Hawk. Between them they have clocked up thirteen sacks, five Ints and nine forced fumbles.
Bengals take note: locate these players before you run or pass or assign protection

    Predication
Teams seem fairly level but Bengals at home will take it
    Bengals +6

This game has serious implications for the playoffs, Titans are looking for a wildcard spot. As are the Ravens but the Ravens also have a distant shot at the AFC North title

Interesting times, looking forward to it

Little kids off school clogging server time, I've read in places that Ea don't have individual sports servers, But just EA sports servers i.e madden being popular in america and fifa here. Because of the different Time zones they switch there uses pretty easy. But xmas just F*cks that up.

Will post up a detailed post in the morning about it lads. I've only played 3 games and it's a hell of a lot more enjoyable playing the computer in a season mode.

There's a few reasons why I find NCAA a hell of a lot better than Madden.

Firstly, you'll notice it straight away from the first match you play against the CPU. When the coin toss happens, if the CPU win it, they will actually pick either receive or kick. Whereas in Madden, they ALWAYS pick receive which pisses me off to no end as I like to defer the kick and when playing, if I win or lose the toss I will always receive the ball in the 2nd half which is completely unrealistic. Also, the wind arrow actually works. In Madden, it's ridiculously inconsistent. Sometimes it'll tell you the wind is blowing against you and then you'll smash a 50 yarder over which could have easily gone over from 60, which shows your actually kicking with the wind.

Second thing is the presentation of the game, especially as the game begins. You get all gimmicks or entrances that each team do. There is a much better feel to this than in Madden where it's just the same generic thing for each team in Madden.

Thirdly is the actual gameplay and especially the CPU level. When I play a season mode in Madden, I find that All Pro is too easy for me so a select All Madden. I find All Madden ridiculous. The CPU's skill level doesn't go up. My player level goes down and it results in a crazy amount of broken tackles by the CPU which is completely unrealistic. The amount of CPU games I've finished with wanting to toss my Xbox out the window is unreal. You'd call a defensive play perfectly and the running back would break 2/3 tackles and gallop 80 yards into the endzone. NCAA is much different. I've started a dynasty mode with Wisconsin and I've won my first two games, but I'm actually being challenged on the difficulty. I have found no ridiculous situations where there's been a heapload of broken tackles. It seems NCAA improve the CPU's logic whereas Madden just make you worse.

The gameplay itself seems to have a much better flow to it. I find myself more enthralled in the game and thinking a hell of a lot more. The playbooks are also a hell of a lot more fun to run. Running the spread offence and the option plays is very enjoyable and can be very difficult to stop.

The only fault that I can see with NCAA so far is the fact that they don't have the rights for players names. However, as long as you are connected to the web, you can get all the real names within a minute. They have a section where you can download other people's rosters, so all you do is enter the username of the person who has renamed all the players and you will then run the game off his database instead of your own one.

If you have a PS3, get this lads. You won't go back to Madden. Only reason I'll be playing Madden from now on is for the online franchise. Which may mean the other lads have a better chance :p

    Here's where I got it from: http://www.365games.co.uk/ps3-games/ncaa-football-12-game

Edit: Having played a few more games I've three more things to add.

    1. ESPN Presentation. It's fantastic to play the game with the proper ESPN presentations and scoreboards and stat screens. Why Madden couldn't do this with NFL Network even I don't know.

    2. The Kicking and Punting: They use the old version of what Madden used with the right stick having to be pushed back and then forward in the direction of which you wanna kick. This brings skill into kicking and punting and makes you think twice about trying to kick it out on the one yard line cause a slip of the finger and they're coming out on the 30 yard line instead.

    3. Ability to make mass Substitutions: As far as I'm aware, you can't do this in Madden whereas in this if you're up loads and want to give subs a few snaps, one click of the button and the whole 2nd team is on the field.
