youve got to be joking, theres an all out war declared v the fa, evra, united, humanity, evras dog, jesus, Obama, Oprah, the hotel who hosted the meeting and basically everybody else except suraez, this morning by liverpool fans.

    didn't take long, first page!

Probably good to have all the discussion of this in one thread tbh.

If Evra's claim that Suarez abused him at least 10 times & it can be seen on camera is proven to be false, he should have the book thrown at him. If its proven to be true, same for Suarez.

I shouldnt have to point out this but Evra is black.

I am aware of this....now can you point out to me what exact tone your skin has to be where the 'n' word becomes a term of affection rather than a racist slur?

I'm pretty sure if I went out into the street now and used the term Evra used in the clip to someone of, say, of African background I would get a punch in the face and be called a racist even if I had tried to use it in a non threatening or non abusive tone!

Some people are loving this. Which is odd, considering I presume they would rather it not have happened, surely. Surely.

Hell we should be welcoming this ban! :pac:

Every black cloud has a silver lining etc ;)

Junior Hoilett is a good shout from earlier mind you whether Suarez would want him in the side is another matter....

    You dirty racist.

    A quick question guys:

Suarez gets injured tonight. He's expected to be out for 4-6 weeks. Do you:

Accept the ban and have it run while he's injured?

    or

Fight the ban on principle to clear his name, risking losing Suarez for a longer period?*

*assuming the appeals process will not be finished by the end of the allotted 2-week window, or that the ban can be extended for frivolous appeal

Lets wait and see what the evidence is. If Evra's word is the only evidence used to prove what was said and when, then Liverpool have a point, don't they. [/quote]

Then they can appeal and fight strongly about it. If there is no appeal Suarez is basicially admitting what he did was wrong and taking the punishment. Interesting times ahead.

yes but if you said it to your best friend or in a closed trusted circle you wouldn't get punched in the face. Seriously, how do you not get this?

If Suarez's past history is somehow relevant then Evra's history of giving suspect evidence to the FA is very relevant.

As for the statement Liverpool will have a bit more information that posters on Boards! :D

I think the new video evidence in the hands of the CPS is going to exonerate Terry, and back up his version of events.

I guess so did the FA panel that found him guilty. Wouldnt be the first time in this saga that Liverpools statement was inaccurate.

lol, so its all evras fault yes? i assume your a liverpool fan, cos your post stinks of the normal blame it on somebody else racket that liverpool fans love to do about everything.

I think it's fair to say they'll be appealing it based on that statement. That or go straight to the CAS if they really feel the FA are determined to ban him to make an example.

I'd expect Terry to be cleared by police and the FA tbh.

My own suspicion is that Suarez has been made an example of as the FA need to be seen to be on the side of the angels and to make a point to Sepp Blatter. If relations esp on racism were better things might have been handled differently. Most observers seem to think they were determined to use this incident as an opportunity to highlight Blatters ignorance.

Terry is the England captain so I reckon we know what happens here.

He has a point in fairness. I haven't seen one Liverpool fan accept the verdict and start the 8-game countdown. He was found guilty, get on with it ffs.

    Instead it's:
    Blame the English language
    Blame Evra's dog
    Blame Terry
    Blame Steve Keane.

Guys, he was found guilty of using racist language towards another player. It wasn't a quick decision, it took almost a week to come to a conclusion. How about some hands going up here and admitting Suarez was in the wrong. He might not be racist but he acted like one.

This thread just exemplifies the crap side of the internet.
Everyone has an opinion but they put it out there like it is fact.

I don't know how many times I have heard people say Suarez admitted he said something and not be able to back it up.

Can anyone on this thread say for certain the words that Suarez said?
Can anyone say what Suarez said in the hearing?

The only thing I know is that Suarez admitted he said something that Evra's teammates call him.
No one else heard what was said and Suarez still got an 8 game ban. Either Suarez admitted that he said something that he should not of, or the panel used a much lower standard than many would have expected to find guilt.

Anyone who says he deserves an eight game ban and can't explain what was said is obviously biased.

Supposedly there is bemusement in Uruguay over this. I wonder is there any scope to turn this back on the FA as its clear they are not showing any respect for cultural differences between the UK and Uruguay and that is discrimination in its self.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

so it terry is cleared, liverpool fans will go mad just for the sake of it, even though he could actually be innocent.

before this happens, can liverpool fans justify why he should be banned besides just for the sake of it, cos suarez was?

I think the delay until Tuesday is to figure out what to do with evra, charge him or not, Suarez won't be found guilty.

It'll exonerate Terry and then a decision will be made on whether to charge the CPS....

or you could accept that a 3 man independent comittee heard all of the evidence and deemed him guilty. I am sure they know what he said.

Having seen the evidence, Liverpool obviously believe the outcome is questionable. We haven't seen the evidence yet. When we do, and if it's damning of Suarez, I'm sure a few hands will go up.

I wonder will any of the posters supporting the FA's decision question the judgement if the assertion in Liverpool's statement about lack of evidence proves to be well founded.
