If all the evidence is two conversations in the box and what was said and only heard between two players then I hope Liverpool persue this to the end and take it to a higher level/court .

Cause I firmly believe that if that's all the FA are going on this has the potential to bring them down ... Yes bring them down .

This could easily get politicalised if over turned in a court of law and some serious questions been asked why this course of action was taken .

You want Liverpool to get ALL English teams booted from Europe?

The highest court open to them, to stop that from happening, is the Court of Arbitration for Sport. And I find it difficult to think that they would overturn this verdict.

    No of course not.

But I do want this ridicilous charge over turned .

If it comes out that Suarez hasn't been found guilty on the word of Evra alone then it will make a laughing stock of the club.

And if it turns out that Evra's testimony against Suarez is the only one used to convict him, will you then accept that that part of the statement will have been justified?

Let's see what the evidence is and then discuss the ruling, our interpretation of events and Liverpool's statement. All we can say at this point is that The FA have found him guilty of a breach of two rules and that Liverpool feel aggrieved given the lack of evidence used to convict him.

    Yeah, sure.

Do that, and Liverpool will get English teams kicked out of Europe.

    Again!

Because the player was found guilty?

If you cant do the time, dont do the crime!
Everyone is sorry after they are caught.

Apparently he called him negro. He should have known better. Take it on the chin and move on. Liverpool had to stand by the player but can make matters for themselves a lot worse if they push this. They are lucky the club didn't cop a fine.

Question: what's happening Terry, there is video evidence against him. It is beginning to show the fa for what they are if a foreigner gets banned for alleged racism, but one of their own avoids it with clear evidence just because he is denying it.

    .

So if Liverpool take the FA to court, all Engliash clubs get kicked out of Europe.

    Never heard that one tbh.

    Any links to that?

    Nope .

Expect the charges to be dropped cause it looks like the plaintiff is a member of the public .
Police probe dropped = no FA charge .

    Now ain't that convenient

I'm behind quite a restrictive firewall in work, apologies.

But it is true, the same agreement has been used to strongarm LoI clubs in the past, to prevent them from taking the FAI to court.

"The FA made an example of him". Tbh the whole idea of making an example out of someone is ridiculous in itself. Equal and fair bans should be given out to each individual who commits an offence, not one super penalty for one person to try make everyone else then tow the line. Ridiculous.

Well it's not really ridiculous at all - see it as something like punitive action and then you won't be saying that.

It would be interesting to hear what Evra called suarez because if indeed he refered to him as a south amercian hasnt he broken the same rules as Suarez.

In the event of any breach of Rule E 3(1) including a reference to any one or more of a person’s ethnic origin, colour, race, nationality, faith, gender, sexual orientationor disability (an “aggravating factor”), a Regulatory Commission shall consider the imposition of an increased sanction.

    He has indeed.

FIFA are trying to get the swiss teams kicked out because the swiss FA wont impose a transfer ban on Sion Fc, it has nothing even comparable to this case so why are you mentioning it.

the FA have got this horribly wrong. If it was a clear case of racist abuse cooberated by other players and officials, then Id say the 8 game ban would suitable. Its not.

Who mentioned Swiss clubs  I didn't, you did. Now go away trying to make arguments that don't exist.

    Why would you do that?

Anyone know how the appeal process works?? Does an unsuccessful appeal mean an increased ban & fine?

Trying to come up with a few positives from this but struggling -

    1) Suarez is possibly nearing burnout anyway - a break won't do him any harm

    2) His absence will surely expedite the signing of a striker in January

    3) Chance for Big Andy to prove himself

    4) (scrapes bottom of the barrel...)....

Every team signs a participation agreement at the start of the season, part of it states that teams won't take the FA through the public court process. If they do, the sanction imposed by UEFA is that all teams from the association will be booted from UEFA competitions.

It's currently hanging over Swiss teams regarding the Sion affair which saw Celtic re-insated, Basle could be booted from the CL.

And that is why i'm delighted and proud with the clubs statement. It's about time someone took on the corrupt double standard cess pit that is the English FA

I posted on twitter last night that Liverpool fans knew suarez wasn't an angel before they signed him. I was then smashed with a barrage of abuse.

At this stage it really is sad how pool fans are just defending him cause he's a pool player. If he was a man utd fan can you imagine the stuff they'd come out with? They're now calling Torres a lady boy so should we wait til he moves teams before we find out what liverpool fans really think of Suarez?

Except Evra could have been a man and confronted Liverpool and Suarez in private. 5 minutes. Apologies if necessary. Walk away. Drama over. Instead he went crying to Mummy (FA), like a b*tch

This is what galls me the most. The attention seeking little rat that he is. He knew full well the impact going crying to the FA would have, and did it cynically, and coldly. He is a man i have no respect for. Actually, calling him a man is pretty generous. He acted like a 4 yr old girl. And deserves respect, from no one

lol, so its all evras fault yes? i assume your a liverpool fan, cos your post stinks of the normal blame it on somebody else racket that liverpool fans love to do about everything.

Nope we are defending him because he is innocent, see the difference.

No, I was going to use the Sion/Celtic/Basle/FIFA thing as my point, but I couldn't find an article about it and the court case. I actually thought I had removed that line from my post before I clicked "submit" because I didn't want to include something I had no proper link to.

There was a thing in World Soccer a couple of months ago outlining the whole thing, including the Participation Agreement. But my firewall won't let me get to it to search.
