No problem with LFC, or with the majority of their fans. I can't believe the reaction from some on here though - you'd think people would just say 'fair enough, he's guilty of abuse' and leave it at that.

I don't think the guy is a racist, but he stepped over the line and it shouldn't be beyond anyone to acknowledge that (in fact most LFC fans do acknowledge it).

And you can bet that if Evra cast a slur against Suarez, I'd condemn that too. Because it's a straight up retarded thing to do, no matter who does it or what club they play for.

It's somewhat amusing that Stumpypeeps is calling out someone for being childish, given your history on these boards.

I'm glad you follow me with such interest.

So, lets get through the bull then, you think Suarez is a racist?

As for the Kenny stuff, the club is entitled to defend their player if they feel the verdict is harsh and entitled to appeal.

It doesn't matter if Kenny, the club or Evra do not feel he is an actual racist.

All that matters is whether or not he made a racist remark.

I'll want to read the report of the commission.

I have been sent off for a physical altercation in a football game before - and the fact I am not an aggressive person shouldn't mean I am not punished for it.

Technically it isn't his but he is Super Mario so he can do whatever the f*ck he wants.

As a gesture of good will we should waive the bill for the door.

Apparently he went around last weekend dressed as Santa handing out money to people around Manchester.

He may be extremely misguided and foolish but I can't help but like the fella. That quote about the Man United team abusing him certainly made me laugh! :D

Will be interesting to see how many Liverpool players are pulled out of the next England friendly with so called injuries.

It was mentioned earlier but i thought it would be worth another mention.

    Vote Suarez

It does make reference to his ethnicity though, which is the same rule Suarez has been charged with breaking.

Also it's 4 games for abuse, 4 games for bringing race into it.

Evra did both too but faces no sanction.
As far as I can tell Suarez was banned for using abusive language that contained reference to his (Evra's) skin colour. Not sure about the 4 + 4 thing from the FA statement so again I don't see why Evra's innocuous football banter should be used as an excuse or dragged into it.

Any papers branding Suarez a racist are moronic and dishonest, but that sums up most of them really. But I don't really see this as changing general public opinion of him, he's already polarized most football fans.

No. Answer the point. (If youre able). Whats wrong with being black, and referring to someone as such? Likewise is there something wrong with being white, or any other skin colour for that matter?

Is that a genuine Balotelli quote??

If so he has just become a bigger legend in my eyes :)

The game needs characters like him

    I love that man

I was actually naive enough to think that the Liverpool sympathisers on this would have the brains to let this lie now that the verdict has been cast. They have been saying on this for the past two months that we should not assume anything until the verdict and now that the verdict is as is, they are still hypothesising over what Evra did or didnt do. Disgraceful.
And also stupid considering that Evra was never charged so the debate was always about Suarez's guilt which tonight has been confirmed. Shocking stuff
Also, someone a few pages back talking about Ben Thatcher and comparing his elbow to this incident? FFS

    What drip feeding from Anfield.

Somebody else made a similar claim and have been asked 3 times to back it up. I'd expect you to back it up or shut up with the claim.

There is no chance that I am going searching for all the old articles. If you missed the articles in the papers, the LFC statement on their website after the game, the Suarez interview, the quotes from Dalglish on the case, etc., then fair enough.

Do you have, in your possession a copy of all the evidence the FA have? If so continue on with your biased views.

Credit to Evra for stating "I do not think Suarez is racist." A better man than many gave him credit for in heree when he was being called a liar and all sorts.

The ban is longer than I ever thought they'd dish out, but it is unacceptable to bring skin colour into a heated argument in a game already full of bad feeling.

Delighted Liverpool will be missing their best player for so long tbh, no point in pretending otherwise. Throw in a likely two game ban for the Fulham incident and its a lovely early Christmas present for the Flah.:pac: His stupidity and ignorance is costing his club dear. Not sure why more liverpool fans aren't raging with him to be perfectly honest, their season could be in tatters.

This tweet from Clarke Carlisle, the Chairman of the PFA, sums up the campaign Suarez will be up against now.

FA say (and do not refer to Racism) as part of their charge. Their opening statement (according to Liverpool) says that Luis Suarez isn't a racist.

So, why is the Chairman of the PFA, saying this kind of thing?

    lORF2.png

    http://twitter.com/#!/clarkecarlisle5/status/149240489000968193

" He is an ambassador for the Kick It Out campaign and is Chairman of the Management Committee of the Professional Footballers' Association." according to Wikipedia.

Fair enough, but you are now calling Suarez a racist. Based on the FA saying he is not a racist? This is the smear/hate campaign will have to deal with. And it is being led from the top.

If Suarez is racist, then FA, admit it. Come on. Stand up and say in your statement "We think Suarez is a racist". I'd love them to do that, would absolutely love it. Because they have no legs to stand on with such a bold statement.

Cant stop laughing at the hyocripsity of Liverpool and its fans tonight. Fans on here ****e talking about innocent until proven guilty, but yet a Club Statement going on about previous false accusations by Evra. Does he not deserve the right to be innocent until proven gulity also?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,401 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    That is still uncertain.

    Absolutely.

I am not saying he made it - I am also saying that Evra or the club saying they don't think Suarez is a racist does not prove he did not.

I'm an Arsenal fan so I'm glad Suarez is going to be missing some time which will hopefully cost you points, but eight games is a joke. I thought he'd get maybe four but likely less, was expecting about a two game ban with another two suspended sentence or something.

With that being said, Carroll hasnt exactly set the world on fire so how do you think you guys will fare over those few weeks? Some tough games for him to be missing. Are any of you expecting to keep up the pace without such an important player for such a lenght of time, or are you expecting this to maybe cost you the shot at a top four finish?

Since its my first post in this thread I had better say this too. I hope no-one takes this the wrong way as I am genuinely asking for opinions here and am not trying to wind anyone up. Apologies if I failed in that regard.

Liverpool should have suspended him when it was 1st announced, ban would nearly be up.

Not suspending them, makes them look like eejits.

Would be if he was South American

This sets a massive precedence for the Terry case. But hey, feel free to accuse to FA of being racist instead.
