unless a car has been properly prepared BEFORE being laid up for a long time, there would be a lot of work need doing to that car before being recommissioned. might be in super nick though and its the rarer 850 V12 and they all have a fair following

I wonder is it the same car he drove to Charlie Haughey's house in 1991 to give him 210,000 pounds in.

Is Mick from Wheeler Dealers the Irish, pikey cousin of Mike from Wheeler dealers?

Gerry Ryan had two 840's, were prone to the same white powder effect. :D

That car could be a fantastic example. Could also be a money pit.
He would have owned that around the time he was off the rails. Nice bit of history :D

I know a fella who bought his old Porsche 911 years back, when he got it delivered he'd left his golf clubs in it and a very expensive set at that!! You never know what'd be in the boot of that yoke :)

Would have thought Ben was more of a CL type. How D F did he ever fit into a 911?

My god  why do people put up ads like this give the car a quick clean before the photos are taken , this and photos taken at night p**s me off

You'd want €8k I reckon to get that 8er in top nick. It would need a serious overhaul after sitting up for so long.

Bet that "New Car Scent" air Freshner is not so fresh anymore.

Way overpriced anyway. I know Dunnes need to make money to pay for the bag tax court case loss but this is a lot of money for a car worth far less.

Is that paint on the top of the tyre? If so, why was this car re-sprayed(badly if it got the tyres) or am I wrong?

Nah it's just a bit of Strawberry Motion lotion, goes well with the hokes.

Car doesn't appear to have been looked after while laid up - apart from all the dust the front wheel is flat , I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of work was required to get that moving again.

Beer baron is on to something, its a bit too "aladdins cave" i.e. tided up look at how shiney the lower end of the body is (respray) . Its been left in a dusty area for a couple of weeks to look like its authentic, I'd say its clocked also by that mileage.

I know the previous owner - fantastic car (a few years ago obviously).

He changed it for a 645Ci.

Is that overspray on the rear arch and tyre?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭no1beemerfan

If it WAS fine before being laid up and it was in that shed the whole time then it might not be so bad. It does look like overspray on the back tyre though. Worth nearer to €3k today I'd say. Fantastic engine in them.

Obviously a gift from BD, as the only place one can put Golf Clubs in a Porker is by the passenger seat!

There was an LS400 for sale on donedeal a while ago that was advertised as being owned by him too. I don't see why it makes a difference.
