    Bye bye 4th place I'd say now.

    Well he won't be suspended until at least the new year anyway, those 3 Man City games in January would be borderline impossible without him.

    he'll be driven out of England now, mark my words.

    The ban is suspended if they appeal. Question now is, accept the ban and have him miss the cup matches, or appeal and risk him for more league games and possibly the Carling Cup final depending on the date the ban takes effect.

    I presume two of the matches will be the Carling Cup semi final and maybe the FA cup tie?(If expected appeal is unsuccessful)

    Would only be 5 PL games then.

    Shocked by the ban - they took so long to reach it I figured they felt it wasn't clear either way. 8 game ban is a severe one. There will obviously be an appeal. Will be interesting to see what happens.

    You never know, I think Kenny will use this to light a fire underneath the team. It may unleash a beast.

    8 matches. This has to be some kind of joke. There'll be riots

    Much as I'd like to win the Carling Cup, chances are he will be missing for 4 league games if the ban doesn't change and starts before the FA Cup match, as we'd have 3rd and 4th rounds of that as well as the League Cup semi both legs.

    Whatever way we slice it Suarez was more than a bit stupid, however it does seem a touch overboard, I reckon theres quite a bit more to happen in this one.

    If this is the case then Terry should get at least 10. He was caught on camera on view for the whole world. Seemed to be only Evra's word against Suarez in this case.

    Mr Suarez used insulting words towards Mr Evra during the match contrary to FA Rule E3(1);
    the insulting words used by Mr Suarez included a reference to Mr Evra's colour within the meaning of Rule E3(2);

    I don't see how the ruling could be appealed. He did use insulting words, and whether in an insulting manner or not, did reference race.

    If anything, the length of the ban should be appealed, but I really can't see how the ruling could be

    'Pool fans shouldn't feel too down relating to the on-pitch stuff. I think they've given him a big ban so the FA will look like they're seen to be taking a no tolerance approach, which is right, but the ban will probably be halved on appeal. All the 'Pool fans have to do now is accept that they have a racist playing for their team.

    This is where Kenny has to do what Ferguson did with Cantona and Ronaldo. Simply can't afford to lose him

    EDIT: Assuming the details of the case and comment are as reported

    The English captain? Nothing.

    It doesn't look like there was much consideration of any context from that piece, though there's a further statement to come. Makes you wonder why the feck they took so long. If they were going to punish him for insulting language he didn't have much hope really.

    14 days is it, so he'd be available for the first 2? Looks like the ban would cover February, a few big games then too.

    Now that he has been found guilty and considering how long the verdict took I do not see an appeal making any difference.

    In fairness though he is entitled to an appeal.

    It will be interesting to see Liverpool's reaction to this.

    That's the sort of ignorance that will see him driven out of the country .
    Small minded attitude which can not see past his own team colours not matter if it destroys a persons career.

    Bravo.

    Great news, delighted for the lad. He knew well what he was saying when he said it and how Evra would take it. Equally happy I don't have to put up with his blatant cheating over the Christmas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,152 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

    He should have just called Evra a French Cnut and got it over with.

    Terry had better be banned now.

    fair enough, the FA felt they had to take a stand on this issue, but what better way to make a stand than to also ban the England captain.

    i won't be holding my breath.

    i accept the decision...i still think it's harsh. i don't think it was meant maliciously, i think it was a stupid moment from Suarez. but now he'll be labelled a racist, and taunted horrendously around England after this.

    i hope the FA are absolutely sure Suarez deserved a ban. i know there are laws to abide, which is why i will accept the decision, but Suarez will have to live with this tag for a long, long time, so he better have deserved it.

    The vast majority of LFC supporters are guilty of that in this matter. To a horrendous extent in some instances.

    Anyone could see the way this was going if they stood back and looked at it objectively.
