humax pvr box

hi a friend rang me today asked for help hes humax box giving trouble. he has all channels but when he goes into media the graphic is transparent and hard to read info. also the words missing index comes on screen in several places. if he presses guide button the box goes into stand bye and restarts. is this a software problem and can it be solved whit a forced download and if so how dose one do this thanks for any info ps box must be only 9 month old i installed it for him

Try doing a full factory reset. If that fails, try email to Humax tech support.

would he loose all hes stored programmes

He would lose his schedule of recordings not the material on the hard disk. For example, if he has a series linked programme set to record, that will be cancelled as will all pending recordings. All his programmes already recorded will be fine. His favourite list will be zapped.

tried factory reset today but you cant get into the menu setting all tha comes up is missing txt all over the screen very odd humax foxsat hdr its only 9 months old
