my defence and running game seem vastly improved over last year but my passing game has gone backwards (last year I got away with a lot of throwing on the run with Rodgers; Rivers doesn't offer the same opportunities).

looking forward to playing the Patriots, the stats show they've been run all over this season (though that might be down to who's in their division).

Berty and Dave! Ha. They love running all over teams so no surprise that the Pats have got destroyed on the ground.

I really think on offence you have to make sure that your passes are accurate and you know the routes your players are running. And I think that it is extremely important to be able to read the other players defence and to get to know when they are going to rush the passer or blitz the runner. Just takes a lot more practice to get used to. Really have to play to your strengths.

I understand all that but I often find my QB's throwing the ball completely in the wrong direction, resulting in a huge number of picks.

On defence its too easy to shut down offences as well. For example in this years franchise I've allowed just 633 yards rushing, which is less than 60 ypg. And I left the franchise for 3 weeks which probably increased that number. I think that is pretty unrealistic.

The screen pass is also completely unusable in this version and I get sacked about 80% of the time on play action.

Yeah I find the screen pass is awful sometimes. I never get sacked but when I do pass my receiver sometimes runs backways for a second and then gets tackled for a loss cos it takes him forever to turn.

Also how many times have you thrown a decent pass only for your receiver to run out of bounds before catching it?

The game isn't terrible by any means but personally I preferred last years version,

fair enough, just thought it'd be weird to have new players making the playoffs after only playing a few games while some of the lads who've been playing all season get knocked out.

as a player not making the playoffs, this doesnt bother me at all!!

This is really such an accurate statement.

Also the comments on the screen passes are correct. Your timing has to be spot on otherwise they tend to be disasterous.

PA passing is a near disaster, any kind of pressure and you just won't get time.

And yep I like to run the ball...and so does Dave !

Tbh my offence is 100% pass orientated and iv got 35-15 with Freeman while still pulling my hair out at several stages. Passing in this game is quite frantically bs considering how easy it is to run the ball (and don't say running the ball is hard because i have a rubbish O Line for running the ball and still have managed to get 600+ yards with 69 rated RB).

Super Linebackers are a pain to say the least and the QB throwing is SO inconsistent the worst being the random stumbling animation that happens to QB's. Not being able to PA is just beyond retarded 80 something plays gone to waste.

Tbh over the last few weeks iv just hated playing Madden have had so many little bullsh*t things that annoy me with it. It's certainly worse then 11.

Restarting my game vs. Steelers (CPU), was down 7-0 at start of third quarter and my wife asked me to go to shop, so paused it and when I came back couple of hours later its frozen. Have a free hour now so good to go

Hi ali g no1, When are you free to play this game?
Free tonight about 10 if that suits you, congrats on your win in advance! I'm so crap I can't even believe it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,514 ✭✭✭BigBadRob83

Don't know where to start, O-Line was like a sieve (6 sacks, one of which was QB fumble and run in for TD), D-Line couldn't get any pressure on Garrard as he had all day to throw, for some reason Beanie Wells kept slipping tackles, their special teams was on me in a flash; just a bad matchup all round.

Jay Cutler reverted to type with some poor decisions on my behalf and ended up throwing 4 INTs (an 8.5 rating, yes that's right no decimal place missing there). Generated total offense of 70 yards, 0-8 on third downs.

The AFC North race has opened up a bit as the Steelers showed some pride after a bad start to the season and toppled the division-leading Bengals.

Bengals need to regroup in advance of the big game against the Texans next week.

sunday suits me, say one o'clock.

had to restart as I got a work call I had to deal with and unthinkingly turned off the xbox. was 7-10 down in 4th with ball.. I think.

The score flatters me, my D scored 2 TDs off interceptions (got me an achievement) finishing with 3 TDs and a forced fumble recovery.
My running game was lousy (34 yards from 13 touches), Rivers threw 3 INTs and 3 TDs, the only solid performer on offence was Davis adding another 146yards to his already impressive tally this season.... on top of that I lost my best defensive player (Urlacher) for 3 weeks with dehydration.

Happy for the win, the Patriots recovered 2 onside kicks in a row in the 4th leaving me thinking the computer had decided it wanted the result. :|

just reading some of the comments regarding the screen pass, and funnily enough i find its one of the most effective weapons in my playbook. Each to there own i suppose .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,864 ✭✭✭empacher

My bread and butter was passing and seeing as mc coy who is rated 75, but is passing stats are all 80 is brutal. Im talking players being over shot by 5feet on medium throws wide open, with him comfortable in the pocket.
A Lesson I'll learn for next time. Don't let the CPU draft hopefully pick up a college QB or a trade. Only good thing is its helped my running game.

But when I'm playing you have to know when a players route takes a slant and hit him as he turns for it, best way to break coverage. Never throw it when he's covered and running horizontal, always the LB steps in front of the pass.

Anybody have the annoying housemate problems, normally the human games are played evening and even if your there first they whine about you playing?

Or like lasts night game against the seahawks b**ch 14-14 fourth quarter in field goal range wasting precious time. comes in hammered after finishing her exams, stands infront of the tv asks am I playing that stupid game? No im just watching the animated series! Picks up her laptop and pulls the first plug out plugs in her charger. Xbox gone.
Me: Thank god your gone home tomorrow for a month over xmas!

OOOOO taste that rage ! I have housemates that just don't understand and treat me like a special needs person. More so when i finish a game and im so excited that Ive made the play offs !

Titans: Hows monday night 10ish for ya? Can only really do late at the moment I'm working late every day till Xmas.

BigBadrob Cheers for the write up's loving them ! We should do something for the last 2/3 games. Maybe review the chances of teams in the AFC/NFC play off hunt. Look at there strenghts/weaknesses ? Ill do NFC, you do AFC ?

    Ravens 6 - 3 Browns

Disgusted at this....had the ball late in the 4th quarter on the Ravens 32 yard line. 49 yard FG would tie the game......I decide I'm going for the win and throw a pick on 3rd down.
Mike gets the ball with less than two minutes to go. Has a 3rd & 7 and breaks free for a 1st down and kneels his way to victory... :o

    Points of Interest:
Cam Newton had a passer rating of 4.2. My two HB's had ratings of 100 & 116.7 from plays run out of the wildcat.

Role on week 15(?) and the rematch :D

I have mccoy in another franchise, where i missed the draft. He is absolutely terrible. I literally dont understand it sometimes how bad he can miss passes

Btw since I'm in the hunt for the number 1 pick, how does the draft work? Are the players

Hey Dave, yeah would be up for doing an AFC write-up after Week 14.
If anyone feels that their team should be getting particular mention for something let me know.
