Jaysus, someone's on the rag today.

Can't back up your posts so you resort to petty comments like this? Quite childish, and endorsed by the forum moderator. tut tut A&A.

Sid_Justice, maybe he (understandably) couldn't be arsed typing it all out here for your delectation?

Maybe he doesn't know? Maybe he thinks he understand but he actually doesn't? Who knows, we'll just take his word on it and slap him on the back for acting rudely in front of strangers.
    Coccyx

There you go, I can't believe I typed all that out in 57 seconds.

I actually know what the Coccyx is and I actually know what piloerection is. I don't need to resort to looking up wikipedia. My question wasn't what is piloerection or what is the coccyx. My question was how do either prove or disprove evolution?

I just find it interesting that atheists and agnostics, when asked a very simple question (to explain something they explained only the other day) respond with petty personal remarks. I think it's very tragic that the great work of scientists like Richard Dawkins is parodied in forums like this.

A&A forum: Huck huck they believe in creationism.
Sid_justice: Explain to me your understanding of evolution
    A&A forum: Nah, too busy.

Who said they did? You were the first person to mention them.

I don't see the point in debating a creationist. I don't know why people waste time with it on the other thread.

Sid, great to have you aboard, even if you haven't managed to make any friends here yet.

If you're interested in evolution, there's a thread right here where you can ask whatever questions you like and, if you can find it within yourself to ask politely, you stand a high chance of having your questions answered.

FYI, we generally try to confine the evolution-related stuff to one thread, as it generally turns out that people who show up out of the blue, asking off-topic, leading questions about evolution, are creationists.

fair enough, i was addressing this point
the human body is the perfectly designed machine and that evolution is a scam. I asked him that if that was the case, to try and explain how we have things like goosebumps or a tailbone.

Presumed it was on-topic but this is obviously a thread for circle jerking.

Toys out of the pram? I'm still waiting on someone to tell me the relationship between human coccyx, piloerection and evolution

Sid, for the second and final time, the forum's creationism thread is here.

You might get a response if you post in a friendly manner. You certainly won't if you continue posting as you are.

what has my question got to do with creationism?
Don't play the clown. That's your final warning, btw.

Creationism-related posts have been moved to the creationism thread.

(no-one really thought the earth was flat anyway)

Oooh this annoys me, it's become a popular fallacy recently, I don't understand why.

People did believe the Earth was flat, the concept of anything else only appears in the 6th century BC, it is very, very well documented. The "Myth of the Flat Earth" refers to the misconception that people believed the Earth was flat right up until the time of Columbus, that it was believed he would fall off the edge of the Earth dare he sail west for India.

Sorry guys, it bugs me :o back to your coccyx debate...

Have only skimmed through this thread, but just out of curiosity has anyone actually read the book. I have it on a shelf at home gathering dust, with erm, almost 3 no 4 years now. :o

Sex is determined at conception, by which sex chromosomes you get (XX or XY). Body development however does take awhile and it seems the female form is produced until male development kicks in, resulting in nipples being formed.

Thank you! People often put out that "sex isn't determined till later" or "we're all female for 3 months", it's one of those science factoids that really bugs me.

That's there so you can shave it and look bigger.

    Evolution is amazing.

Here's a great one to ask believers in intelligent design. What the hell was God thinking when he gave pregnant women a heightened sense of smell at the same time as giving them a funky digestive system that makes them do frequent, nuclear farts?

Then he starting talking about how the human body is the perfectly designed machine and that evolution is a scam.

    You should have said-

If the human body is perfectly designed then how come when we urinate a small amount of urine enters the mouth through the saliva glands.
