Super Furry Animals - The Ambassador that time they did a weekend of gigs in Dublin, think it was just after Rings Around The World.

Great show. They had a quadraphonic setup which came into its own during the horn sections. Run Christian Run had my jaw on the carpet. The afternoon gig in Whelans earlier was a belter too, but a tad overcrowded.

    Biffy Clyro, Dolans in Limerick.

    Before they got huge....

Gallows at the voodoo Lounge a couple of years back pretty much redefined what a band should do live for me : )

Now that I think of it, I saw SFA in the Olympia during the Lovekraft tour. That was an unreal gig............

    Bush- brixton academy 2002

Death Cab - Dublin Castle, Camden Town 2002 was only about 50 people in the place as it's like someone's living room. Still have the set list that Ben Gibbard and Nick Walla gave to me when they had a few drinks with everyone after the gig.

KASABIAN were class at ox 06 and again when seen then in o2 nov09, artic monkeys rock Werchter 07, while touring 'favourite worst nightmare' (their best album imo) but best for me i think was Franz Ferdinand the point 05!

Bon Iver at the Grand Canal Theatre in October.

I was completely blown away. While I felt he would deliver a good set live, I didn't expect that much sound to be on stage! Every song was new and different while being instantly recognisable. Blood Bank is a good song on the EP, but was absolutely amazing live

The Frames. Multiple times between circa 1998 and 2002 in and around Limerick City.

Smashing Pumpkins in the SFX, August, 1995.

It was the first of two nights that they played there - support was by a very young Ash.

Nothing has come close to matching it since..

I really wanted to go to that gig but had no money. Whipping Boy supported them the other night. :(

Yep the second night with Whipping boy was the same day as Sunstroke 95 in the Rds with Soundgarden headlining.. Although Soundgarden is still one one of my favourite bands - I pretty much spent the whole night in the RDS wishing I was back in the SFX!!

Good times. Just can't believe how long ago it is now..

    Too many to chose from.

Dobet Gnahore at Rich Mix was particulary intimate.

    Hanggai at Union Chapel.

Carolina Chocolate Drops at same venue.

    Rokia Traore at the Barbican.

    Sparks at Royal Festival Hall.

Jeez mate, apart from Sparks who are great, I never heard of any of those!

Trust me, they are great also.

I would simply die to see Tom Waits in concert!

Few off the top of my head...

The Strokes, Olympia 2002... Delivering on the hype!

Muse, Olympia was it 2004? Just before they really took off. Some gig the sound was unreal.

Biffy Clyro, Roisin Dubh before it was renovated.

Sufjan Stevens, The Village 2005? Not a great venue but great show all the same.

Incubus, when they played the boxing stadium a few years ago, was awesome.

Also, muse at oxygen were fantastic, amazing feeling being in the pit for it
