Reina on Soccer AM. Even though its a silly little interview I'm still annoyed to hear Andy Carroll is the worst in training. Should be breaking his balls.

Is there any proof of this since he signed for Liverpool, aside from hearsay on forums? Only picture I can remember seeing of him drinking since then was either in Dubai or at a festival during the summer. Given that everyone has a camera phone, if he was on the piss every weekend, surely there'd be pictures popping up all over the place

What fighting? Have not heard anything about him fighting. Pretty sure that if he was involved in a scrap that it would be plastered in every tabloid.

As for his drinking, yeah he gets seen out in certain bars and one casio/entertainment venue in particular, but he is not being seen making a show of himself to the general public.

Would have liked to have heard that he was the hardest worker in training, but then again a few players who in the past were praised for their hard work and extra hours in training still got slammed by supporters and/or did not perform on the pitch.

Didi was rarely seen around Liverpool without a ciggie hanging from his mouth and was meant to just do the minimum in training, yet he was a damn good player for us.

I guess what I am saying is that Carroll will be judged, and is being judged, by what he is or is not doing on the pitch. If he does not start scoring and/or getting assists on a regular basis then that will be it for him in footballing terms at Liverpool. If he starts to knock them in, then he will be the player that people will be coming out of the woodwork to say they knew would come good.

There was a story in the tabloids about him getting into a scrap with his brother in law on some yaught during the summer. No idea how true it is though.

The Carroll thing's been on my mind for awhile. I blame the fitness couch though. He's an Australian lad and someone put up an interview with him here awhile back. His attitude to Carroll on the training ground went along the lines of 'well he's a big guy so i don't tell him what to do'. It's a shame as i feel Andy could be amazing if he was super fit.

I really couldn't give a flying fcuk what Andy does off the pitch once he does the business on it .

So for that reason I think he has been a disapponemt and still has alot to prove .

If Carroll was doing the business on the pitch, the fact that he is lazy on the training pitch wouldn't be an issue. The fact that he isn't scoring makes it an issue.

We have a billionaire owner who can afford those players. We can afford to take the hit, Liverpool cant.

They can afford to waste that sort of money, Liverpool can't. That's the difference. Regarding Lukaku, he's only 18 yrs of age and he has the likes of Torres, Drogba and Sturridge ahead of him. Give him time, could well prove to be a steal at that price
