Where most of the soaps are set ?

I used the ethnic demographics of Manchester to compare the ethnicity of the Corrie Cast. Weatherfield, where Corrie is set, is a fictionalised version of Salford. The demographics there, as of the 2001 census, are 96.1% white, 1.4% Asian and 0.6% black.

I'm not sure what the LGBT demographics are, but as parts of it are only 2 tram stops from Canal St, and the UK has had a house price boom which has caused ripple effects from popular areas, Salford possibly has a much higher LGBT population than many other areas of the UK.

I've never met a nice white South African male.

PM me and I'll take you out for a pint so we can change that.

Unpopular opinions you say hmm, I'll start with:

There should be no social welfare for anyone. Sink or swim.

If you lost your job, then when your savings ran out you still hadn't found another job, would you still feel that way even though when you were working, your taxes contributed towards the social welfare fund?

They wouldn't have been paying taxes into a social welfare fund as it wouldn't exist...

Anyone who says todays music is a load of grabage, is a old **** who either only watches MTV and sees mainstream bull**** or someone who is just small-minded. People might say music was grea tin the 80's and that's probably true, but i bet there was alot of bad music with that aswell. So don't diss today's music inless you actully know about it.

    It's*

Ah we're ganging up on him now. No fair!

*Ahem, I may well have been guilty of this particular indiscretion in the past

But in relation to chart music specifically it is a load of balls. Chart music in the 80s was generally of much higher quality. I'm watching Grace Jones on an old Top of the Pops right now - nothing like that in the charts today. Of course not all music is rubbish now, there's lots of brilliant stuff - but chart/pop music on the radio is obscenely bad, taken over by X Factor muck.

I don't know if this is unpopular, but I think that people who count the numbers of non-white, non-heterosexual and disabled characters/presenters on TV progammes need to get a hobby.

I can't understand how some can't grasp that very small children sometimes act up, even those of very conscientious parents, and they can't always be kept at home.

No, it's sad, and you're far from alone with that feeling. For some reason it reminded me of that thread here months ago about the Princeton student who wrote a long email about his reasons before he took his own life. Heart-wrenching stuff.

These parents are pure negligent because they forget to bring the remote control for these kids, or the batteries (CR2032) are empty. Some parents even dont bother to send off for the remote using the voucher that comes out after the child is born. It would drive you mad really the remote is the handiest thing ever and its free except you have to claim it using a voucher. Such laziness is inexcusible tbh

Unless the place has a no kids rule, that's like sitting in the smoking area giving out about the smokers. Although totally out of control is unacceptable
