I won a laptop in Bray once, it was a fancy 17" Sony vaio and I was thrilled because it was on one of those stupid stacker machines that nobody ever wins on.

I didn't even win this radio quiz, but they sent the prize to me! The poor sucker has been complaining about it ever since.

    I've never.

Reminds me of a funny/dodgy story I heard this week about a lad that had worked for my gf. He's now working for a fairly big company and was running a FB competition that had car and cash prizes. Just so happened that 2 of his best friends won the big prizes, I heard it didn't go down too well :D

UGH, that's why i have little faith when i do competitions.

I've never won anything big. The most is 25 euro on a scratchcard which was a fortune to me as a poor student and it was right before a trip to Dublin so i was delighted :pac: Very little else :(

I've started entering a lot of competitions recently so I hope to come back to this thread with positive news one day. Positive thinking and all ;)

Won a trip to one of the matches with Tesco to the World Cup in Japan in 2002. It was only 5 days. A day travelling there. 3 days in a 5 star Hotel in Tokyo, ferried around the city and fed and watered in Restaurants and of course a ticket at the Ireland vs Saudi Arabia match. And then a day travelling home. Absolutely brilliant, still smile to this day thinking about it. When I first got the call from Tesco saying I won it I thought it was a mate winding me up :)

In 2007 I won an all expenses paid trip to South Africa including a stay in a luxury cabin in one of the Game Reserves with a Vendor through work.

I reckon I am due some good luck again so I have bought a Euro Millions ticket for the draw later on today :)

Once won 450 pounds on a fruit machine on the ferry to the uk, was fooking delighted, the mrs was too, we were gonna have an even better holiday etc..

Some bird decided to jump overboard , so the ferry had to search for her, everything was closed on the boat, so i couldnt change it to notes.

5 hours extra at sea , and one by one I put every single pound coin back in to the machine.

Took me till the train ride to London to work up the balls to tell the mrs.

If ya wanna win big ya gotsa play the zumbabwaen lottery, more zeros in those cash amounts then on our national debt.

For me, 200 quid. Twas the world cup in 06 at the local watering hole. Before the competition began 32 people entered for 20 quidi think and everyone got an envelope with a coutrys name in it so twas random but the envelopes were kept after the draw in the pub untill just before the final kicked off where everyone got theirs and opened it.
Sure didnt i get france :D Winner got 300, 2nd place 200 so I knew i had 200 quid in the bag. Good way to run a draw actually

The biggest prize I ever won was a giant teddy bear in Funderland when I was a kid. The most expensive prize was a gameboy when I was about 12 in a competition in Tesco. I also won a signed Westlife CD off a competition on the radio years and years ago, and gave it to my sister (who absolutely loves them) has a christmas present. The biggest amount of money I won was only about 50 on the lotto.

I did manage to get a free TV once but was an accident, I didn't win it. I used to work near my parents house and I'd go there during my lunch break everyday. One day, a delivery man knocks with a TV and asks me to sign for it, I did thinking my parents ordered it. It turned out, it wasn't meant for them and it had been delivered to the wrong house. No one called back to the house to collect it and there was nothing on the box to say which shop it had come from so I got to keep it. :D

I won a massive box of Nestle sweets when I was in 3rd class in a drawing competition, they lasted forever.

I won €30 on a Hampers and Roses last year.

I won a big Eeyore at Funderland over the summer, there was a young girl and her mam who were standing there for ages trying to win something and I just walked over and won first time round, so I handed it to the girl.

New car in a car draw. It was surprisingly difficult to sell. Whats the mileage? Nil, its new. How many owners? None. What colour? Whatever you want.

€7k on the English Derby in 2006.
    €9k in a poker tournament.

ha, that's why i can never buy a scratch card for anyone else except my parents. I can deal with them winning loads of money but if it was anyone else i would be kicking myself that i didn't keep it. I think it would be my last waking thought every night :p

All Ireland Credit Union Quiz Champ, back in the primary school days.

Got a big stereo (3 disc cd changer in it), a silver salver, a practical yet stylish credit union hold all bag and a hip to the groove credit union baseball cap.

I won a Mars gear bag around the time of Italia '90. Nice one!

Have never won anything substantial myself (this Christmas will be different though) but both my cousin and my aunt won cars in the credit union draw. It was nice because they were able to take a cash equivalent and both needed the money.

Won €800 in a Credit union draw 2 summers ago. Parents won an Opel Corsa 18 months before that in the Christmas Credit union draw.

Snap. I won an Avensis in my Credit union christmas draw in 2009. Tried to sell it on adverts. Best comment:
I need a car for my father who is a pensioner & he can give you €8000 cash this week if you want?

    ...uh...okay - if he's a pensioner
