Yep, not only can you run them, you can run the textures and things in much higher resolutions so they look far better than they do on the Wii.

Looks very well. Some of it might be getting the settings correct, & there could also be issues with the emulation too [though Wii emulation is damned good]

I've seen a few guys online who have it running perfectly with the same graphics setup as myself so I just need to play around with it and it should be fine.

I presume with a bluetooth dongle, the controller & nunchuk can be used too?

Yep! Can have multiple controllers too.

If you want to get the point function working, you need an IR bar for the top of the display though. I picked up a wireless one for about a fiver on ebay.

Yes, At the moment you cant play it unless you have a wiimote with motion plus and nunchuk connected via bluetooth.

It's one of the few games I've seen that you just cant play unless you have the real hardware(controller wise).

Hmm, seriously considering playing the game this way so. If its an enhancement, why not like?

If I use a legit Zelda SWS will it f*** up my soft mod on the Wii?

I have to say, the more I play the Wii, the more the controller is a gimmick and one that has ham-strung Nintendos output.
I can't think of a game, aside maybe from WiiSports, that benefited from the use of the Wii-mote.

I'd agree to some extent, although I think the likes of Mario Galaxy and the Sega lightgun ports handle them sweetly. Nintendo never really went out of their way to point out that there's a decent-ish library there that doesn't require motion controlling, such as Tatsunoko, Muramasa and all the usual suspects I mention. Not that they needed to, since the Wii pulled in more money than most functioning states. It's hardly going to sell to the masses, is it? Decent, non-motion bound games, on last-gen tech. I mean, when they can argue with some fat, acne-addled German kid in HD over a game of CoD or whatever.

Thats a good point, the hardware was outdated before it even hit the shops...I suppose they needed a good selling point. Personally I'd really love to see Nintendo competing up front head to head with the big guns, instead of relying on outdated technology implemented in gimmicky ways though.

Think of something with the power of a PS3, but managed & ran completely by Nintendo. It'd be incredible. I know the Wii U is meant to be on par with this generation power wise, & thats great, but again its got this gimmicky tablet crap for a controller. A modernised, wireless, Gamecube controller & a beefy console would be what I'd love to see.

I can just imagine whatever CEO had a meltdown from the GCN's relative failure and decided that the Gamecube should be re-purposed into a white-box with lots and lots of wiggly-crap.

Can anyone ID an early FPS game that possibly used the Wii-mote?
(The advert certainly gave that impression anyway.)

All I can remember is seeing it in one of the first TV ads for the Wii.

I can remember the player was looking around the corner holding an Uzi, or maybe even 2.

    That's all I've got I'm afraid!

Just got Zero 4 Champ Doozy-J on ebay. It's an anime style drag racing game on the PS1. Looks interesting and might have to pick up the Super Famicom version too!

No it won't. You'll have to boot it using configurable iso launcher or something, can't remember the name of it but once you set that up you can use it to rip the disc to a usb HD and play it.

Red Steel. Load of arse it was too. The second game is meant to be good though.

I got that for a fiver ages ago and it's ok for a few multiplayer matches. Wasn't mad on the main game.

Pretty much sums up the majority of FPS titles in the last five years.

Sad but true. The only reason I want MW3 is to play it online. Used to play MW2 a lot when it came out.

Yeah that's right you heard me! I like mainstream games!

Soon hating mainstream will become mainstream, & then all the monacle lovers will like mainstream again because it wont be mainstream.

Automatically disliking a game because of its popularity is sad.

Nice one for the ID, was always curious about the game, since i saw the 2 second clip 5 years ago.

I know a guy who has his Wii configured so it never allows updating, that way you can buy legit disks and play them without losing Homebrew.

The forums are full of losers who were happily playing NeoGeo games until they popped in a shiny new copy of Mario Kart Wii and, BAM, no more Last Blade beetches!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,912 ✭✭✭Steve X2

Buy a game and rip it and remove the update partition.

Or buy any game and download a legal copy of it with the partition removed.

If you own the game its all guilt free :)

Was just in CEX, loads of Gamecube games in stock guys, I got

    Star Wars RL:RSII €5
    Super Monkey Ball Adventure €6

Found SSX Tricky there for €2.50 but rude guy behind counter said it was missing and wouldnt keep an eye out for it if I dropped back in in a hour just in case. Pants, loved that game!

There is LOADS of RE4 gamecube copies in the store at €15, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, loads of Pikman 1, a few Super Smash Melee, mario kart DD, eh, Buffy... worth a look.

    Hope they get more in!

They seem to have moved GC games to the top of the shelves and know they sell more than wii games now, few people in the cue with me getting GC games. Oh I'm happy!!!!

EDIT: Also Metroid Prime Echos for €15 or so too. few copies of it there. And REmake and REZero, dont know what price they are though.

I've a few bits on the way from the land of beef noodle bowls. Until they arrive though, I did play an absolute stormer in the Black Friday sales yesterday.

Picked this bad boy up for something along the lines of 8 million % off the RRP in a 'lightning deal'. Skip to 1min in to the video to get audio.

    BAM!!!!!! :D:D

It is gaming-related. I'm planning on using it to hose myself down after playing any Darius games.

I'm also planning on using it on SteveSI until he gives me a shot on Darius Alpha. :D

Since we're going completely CRAZY and off topic ;), check out this little beast!

Best anti-dust weaponary out there, have had my eye on it a good while:

And yes, they should have stuck something in the fans to prevent them spinning!

$50 in the states...... the Euro version will set you back €110.

    Still tempted though.

Perfect for cleaning out any of your electronics, even your vintage consoles.

I really hate dust inside my PC.
So when I was building a new one a few months back I went for a case with proper dust filters on the intake fans that you can clean when required.
    So far its worked perfectly.

But that thing would be handy for cleaning vintage consoles and computers as long as you can lower the power down on it.
