    That's the spirit! :D

If I see shooting games, I have to have them. I have a serious addiction to shooting games but I don't care, these games will all be loved and played to death! :)

    some comics on a cd

    What comics were they?

I'd like to get my What's Michael? manga back but it's in lock up in the UK right now. Mine are all first edition Dark Horse volumes too, worth a pretty penny now too apparently.

Loved those books, one of my favourite manga. :(

Some 60's marvel stuff. It was one of those things you can get on eBay like the complete ebooks of George RR Martin that pop up on it. Was a random selection of stuff as I got a bionicle as well.

Btw the Saturn and neo geo pocket have a selection of games, the 3ds has the zelda remake.

Reach was pretty good. ODST always sounded like a half assed expansion to me.

Also, seems the critics aren't too enamoured with the Anniversary edition.

    Well done you!
ODST is a grand game, a side story to the main tale, frequent changes of pace are the norm here, the one trooper, alone in a dark New Mombassa and the periodic shift to the events occurring to the rest of the team.
Its also a real love in with the Firefly /Serenity cast!

Halo Reach is pretty great, beautiful to behold and plays very well.

I find the secret to enjoying these games fully is never to play them on regular difficulty, bump them up a notch!

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,261 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

I picked tem up with Skyward sword since they were finally cheap enough to justify it. As I keep saying I don't hate Halo other than Halo 2's single player campaign it's just overrated and these will be good for when Dark Souls or Xenoblade inevitably piss me off and end up in the freezer and I need something simpler to play with bad chuckle worthy writing (looking at you Reach, you better deliver like Hlao 2 and 3).

I must say that I found ODST to be a pretty good game, Different from the normal Halo shoot first and ask questions later...had some steath it there as well.
Reach...I found the first level to be so so and did not get into it until @ 2- 3 level, then I really enjoyed playing it.

I agree about putting it on the hardest level you can. Then again Gears of war on Hardcore was still pretty easy.....Now insane that was F***ing hard. 2 or 3 shots hits sometimes one and you were dead.

Are you not bored to tears with standard, run and gun FPS games at this stage no? I just can't play them anymore. The only one I'll stick on regularly is Half Life DM. Other than that, it would want to have some really interesting play mechanics to keep me interested.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,261 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Yes I really am. Played through GoW 3 with a friend recently and it did nothing for me.

However you know those days when you just want to watch Commando or Die Hard again instead of something arty?

Well somedays I'm not in the mood for inventory tetris, deciding where to put my experience points, getting kicked in the ass by a boss and losing 30,000 souls or dungeon crawling for hours with nary a save point in sight for an hour at a time.

Those days are my dumb FPS/openworld days when I'm in the mood for a game with as little depth as possible.

Went for a walk on my lunch break and checked out two Charity Shops.

Shop 1: I see a sea of green as I walk in, that is to say original XBOX games. Titles aren't bad; fahrenheit, mafia, unreal (something), psi-ops - all between €2 - €3 each, then I see a sealed Dead to Rights and a sealed May Payne 2, pretty sweet, but both marked €10 each. W...t...f...?
    I leave empty handed.

Shop 2: PS2 games lined up along a fairly big shelf, I think to myself there must be a least 1 decent game in there. There were indeed and I picked up:
    The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
    Manhunt
    Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
    Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
    Star Wars Battlefront
    Ratchet & Clank
    Ratchet & Clank 2
    Ratchet & Clank 3
    All for €8.
They had a good few others as well: Tekken Tag Tournament, some Tony Hawk stuff and other titles I probably had already but yeah a pretty good haul I think.

Oh, Super Mario 3D Land is rather fine by the way and to celebrate I've bought Super Mario Land and the second one as well as Wario Land and all for 15 with postage! Happy days!

ODST is my second favourite in the series after the first one. Can't decide if Halo 2 or Reach is thirs but Halo 3 is definately last....

My laser cut Zelda sign arrived while I was away :)

It's more a pinky red than red but I've been on to the crowd I got it from and they're sending me a blue light for it as all they have is the pinky red.
I think it still looks good but will see how it is in blue and decide then what to keep.

I stuck a sheet of thin black plastic behind it as it looks better that way on the wall. I'll cut the black plastic to size later on.
I'll also have to come up with a way to disguise the power cable a bit.

Ebay for 21 Euro with free delivery from Hong Kong.

Make sure to go for the "Buy it Now" option and not an auction as delivery is about 15 euro on the auctions.

    http://stores.ebay.ie/LiteProduct

Also, if you want red it will actually be a pinky red.

Delivery took 7 days including the weekend and it arrived well packed and intact and a signature was required I think(I wasn't here myself).

Just be sure to tell them that you want a UK/Irl adapter (which they included for free with my order).

A very good price I think. I'll be getting a couple of items from them I think.

Weird, his link did work the other day. Not sure if hellboy99's link above is the same shop but they have the same signs it looks like: link.
