Just replaced bulbs today on my passat, main light no problem, it failed yesterday, just had to remove part pf the air intake duct to get at the light, however daylight impossible to get at, could just about reach the drivers side with index and long finger, no room to use tools, tried for about 45 minutes to twist it out but gave up. Anyone know an easy way to replace daylights on passat? Seems ridiculous to have to bring to garage for this?

I have passed a Seat (Ibiza?) on the N3 two or three time in the last 5 weeks which has no rear lights at all. I keep thinking it is someone who has forgotten to turn on their lights, until I pass and see the fronts on.

I shudder to think how many flashes and beeps the person has got in that time.

Then there are a shocking number of cars with no working brake lights (some perhaps the high level one still functioning)......

......lastly, I had our family car in for the NCT yesterday. There was a BMW X5 on the ramp ahead, with only the high level brake light working. I'm certain this car would have diagnostics to tell the driver that there was a problem and they still went to a car test without rectifying them.

/looks for a "other drivers aggressively flashing and beeping me just because I drive a supermini" thread.

I don't believe that's what was being inferred and think to say it was is unfair.

The question is, did you do anything about it?

I can't believe the amount of cars on the road with defective headlights. Seriously Conor Faughnan would be better off using his air time on Today FM or Pat Kenny reminding motorists to check their headlights. Its like people are willing to drive on one headlight and/or are replacing headlights but not sitting the bulb back into the correct position hence the light is pointing into the sky or more annoying my rear view mirror or my eyes:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Ok I've just been watching One Foot in the Grave but the above had to be said in public.:o

Such as? I did flash him the first time, but I didn't have high expectations. I usually forget reg plate numbers quickly when driving.

Met an Avensis South bound on the M50 today. Sidelights and front fogs! :(

That's the thing. Eejits driving with fcuked up lights are still better than eejits driving without any lights at all. And they are by far more. They are mostly people from age 40 upwards when driving licence could be obtained by signing the paper that he/she wants to be a driver now.
Listen here kid not everyone over 40 got their license without doing a driving test ;)

Passed an X3 on the Dunkettle roundabout last night with hazard lights on to compensate for no headlights. Rears worked fine.

Call traffic watch. If you cant see reg numbers, just tell them what type of car it is and the direction they are heading. Worked for me.

Almost forgot to say I saw a Ford focus driver with no lights driving around Castletroy at 21:40 this evening - so so crazy
