Nice job. The german plates and surrounds really set it off.

Only thing is the pc brigade will think both of us are **** now for liking them..:D:D

Couldn't a agree more, I like them don't care what other people think!

Failed the NCT on those in little island, complaining of the slit on the zero, took out my black marker from the glove box. Filled it in, he stopped me before filling in the front one and gave me the cert! sound chap!! haha

Got the car back from having a tiny crack in the alloy welded, fúcking potholes. Was driving me nuts having a random flat tyre every few days

Rewired my Radio with dgt today. Also learned that my tyres were seriously different sizes! 175's on 3 and a 155 on the other!

I have pics of the mess up later.

Ok. So took the top off. Used my back to 'walk' the top towards the back to its 'tipping point'.

    19112011766.jpg

    19112011768.jpg

I had no help ( was up early ) but could handle it comfortably by myself....although when i was using the truck as a fulcrum ( when tipping) i did a bit of damage to the plastic....but its the price i paid for doing it myself.

    19112011769.jpg

Winters are mild here so cant see the top going back on. May not be the best way to store it ( have cushions on the bottom) but since i live in the city i dont really have much options.

    19112011770.jpg

Couldn't resist taking it for a drive before i tackled putting on the softtop. There were looming black clouds in the background so had to be quick.

    Next...installing the softop.

    <snip - please don't quote pics for the sake of a one-liner>

    Me ;)

So what did I do today?

    I got this Berlingo wheel...
    Image1587.jpg

Straightened the inside of the wheel
    Image1589.jpg

    Image1593.jpg

Put on a much smaller profile tyre
    Image1596.jpg

Pumped it and cleaned up the wheel
    Image1602.jpg

    Then painted it up
    Image1605.jpg

Excellent! Just need 3 more steel Berlingo wheels and some more 185/55r14s :(

This can be my spare wheel once balanced :pac:

Today I had my car dyno'd and everything seems in order.

Discovered my aerial is broke :(

Woke up this morning and noticed that it never went down when I turned the ignition off last night. Cleaned it up with WD40 and it will go down and back up halfway when it feels like it. The motor is still working but defo sounds like something is obstructing it from collapsing /rising fully.

Another job for the list....

    Washed it :)

    Long overdue

Finally got round to changing the pollen filter, windows were steaming up ;)

Most dealers never bother doing it as you have to pull out the glove box to get at it in the Astra. There was a date of 29/7/2007 on the old filter so was needed.

Also hoovered my K&N panel filter and gave the throttle body/carb and good clean up with carb cleaner. And then an "italian tune up" ;)

Finally got the swirl flaps blanked :D Thankfully they were in good condition anyway, but there's my mind at rest.

Also discovered one of my rear springs snapped.... Eibach pro kit, here I come

Today I changed the wiper linkage mechanicm and motor in my MGF and also I think I finally have the drivers side window tomorrow. I'll test it tomorrow to be sure.

Rust proofing is finally finished and the first coat of paint is going on the floors tomorrow.

It's getting there finally.. The bonnet release cable is the next big job to do and when that's done the interior is going in

I have it cleared now so I must go back next week. All i could think of when posting this was Absurdums signature....

Was looking forward to washing it today when I got home... as soon as I passed kinnegad on the way down, it went from a lovely sunny day to píssing rain within the space of 30 metres. So much for that plan!

    Lower balljoints - Esty.

Threaded a hole in the steering knuckle :o ... first use of a tap. All good.
Didn't have quite the same bite though when tightening so didn't torque all the way.

Mustn't be the same Sally I know then ;)

Back on topic I put the winter tyres on both cars yesterday, still very mild weather but here in Sweden it's illegal to drive on summer tyres if there is snow on the road between 1st. Dec and 1st. April.
