Not quite got something new but preordered.
Ordered Zelda Skyward Sword without the controller and Super Mario 3d online, worked out at 78 with postage.
Not too bad, a good saving of 20 over bricks and mortar shops as well as cheaper than Play.
    Roll on the 18th!

It's a deadly little game. Wasted many hours on it many years ago. :)

Oh also forgot I got Conkers pocket tales on the GB today as well.

I normally wouldn't comment on a game purchase belonging to someone else in a negative way, but for Conker on GBC I feel I must make an exception for once :(

I bought it back in the day, having read the good reviews and at the time being a huge Rare fan - but the game was a huge let down for me. It has basic gameplay - its definately no Zelda, the graphics are average and the levels are bland. I remember completing the game extremely quickly and not being able to go back out of the last area to continue to explore the modestly sized gameworld.

The game lacks charm and is not a patch on the N64 game, or indeed any other Rare title from that era. Probably one of the biggest disappointments for me from that time. I actually ended up bringing it back to GAME on their handy ten day return policy.

I hope you get some enjoyment from it - maybe you will as I was all hyped up for it back then. Would be interesting to hear other peoples' thoughts on the game....

The chap below arrived this morning, Aliens PCB by Konami. I've wanted this for a long time, it's not particularly rare or expensive but I guess I only recently decided to keep an eye out for it. Have the manual to go with it also. It's the only arcade game I played religiously as a teenager and through college and still play it today. Love the game; the artwork, animations and sound effects are brilliant. Fairly easy game to 1cc once you stick with the flame thrower and it loops a second time at least.

It also came wrapped in the longest sheet of bubblewrap I've ever seen, fair play to the seller, this could've been kicked out of an aeroplane and still survive. :D

    PCB hidden in there somewhere:

Needs a dusting but in great condition overall:

Nice one! Looks really lovely on that Trinitron too. The scanlines are drool worthy.

I think you officially win for most bubble wrapped item ever. You'd probably burst your ear drums if you somehow managed to pop all of those bubbles at once :D

    That's beautiful!

Loved the Aliens game when I was younger bu looking back it's not lived up as well but still a damn fine game and great in co-op, just not as polished as say the NES contras. Speaking of which it's very obvious this is a contra game that got reskinned when Konami got the license :) Have fond memories of playing the **** out of this at mosney.

It plays identically to how it did when I was younger which is what I wanted. Mame does a splendid job of it too. I've actually never played it co-op now that you mention it, a bit like Raiden - I prefer it solo. :)

I used to play it waiting on Quazar in the Dundrum Bowl, back in '90 I think it was.
A great game but superseded by much better games since, like the Capcom Aliens game, despite the handicap of being a side scrolling beat'em up it survives because going into hand to claw combat with an Alien is ill-advised, especially if you want to hang onto that hand!

I'm not saying it's bad. Just when I played it when I was younger I thought it was absolutely amazing but when I revisited it on mame I really enjoyed it but just wasn't up to how I remembered it. I was just a little disappointed when I revisited it is all.

Lol I was hoping you wouldn't take that the wrong way. I basically just meant i'm crap at some games in co-op. I don't suppose you've had a chance to play your own Raiden II board since?

Heh, no offense taken, 'twas only a joke. Shmups need to be played single player. Two player is a bit of craic, but an absolute confusing cluster****!

Raiden 2 has been boxed away until that day in the distant future where i get a vertical cab. I shall have to make do with dreaming of it until then!

Been super busy playing Night Raid tonight. God knows who invented that scoring system!

Anyway, this arrived today, a nice sealed copy of Whip Rush for the Mega Drive. My second Mega Drive game, and first shooting game (along with Moonwalker) for a console I don't even own yet! (Planning to buy an NTSC-J one though soon).

Been buying games for the ds and I don't have one yet. Dropped enough hints for Xmas hopefully. Although can see a repeat of last year.
'ah thanks, 2 knock off GameCube controllers.'
'do you like them? Are they the right one?'
'oh I love them! Really like them yeah. Yeah the exact ones been looking for.'

I didn't even need GameCube controllers had about 6 of them. have no idea where the thought came from. Still it's the thought that counts.

'ah thanks a cymbal and cd of a book and some comics on a cd as well.'
