If there is a child involved I beg of you to please not do this.

Your post makes me want to which if you read my post I said twice I couldn`t - I love my step child and would never do anything to hurt her which is why this biatch has got away with treating me so badly, at the end of the day thats her mother and I never forget that. I would have literally puched any other person who has done the stuff she has and I`m not normally violent!

A lot of welfare cheats have kids, that doesn't make it OK. Not only is the woman the OP mentioned getting money off the state, she is also neglecting to pay taxes, costing more. Fcuk her, she deserves no sympathy or leeway.

But the children stand to suffer. And if the OP was found out it would ruin their relationship with the daughter.

Yes, because criminal activity is fine if it benefits a child in some way.

It's not about if it benefits a child, it may be that the repocusions (sp) may have a bad affect on the child!!!

This country is gas. Moan to the high hill about the state of the economy.

    Sees blatant social welfare fraud.

    Says nothing.

And calls people who would, a rat... Typical..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,927 ✭✭✭COYW

No chance I would report someone for SW fraud, its not my job!

Typical Irish attitude which has us in the state we are in, as a country. In years to come the economy will turn in a positive sense and cronyism will reign as strong as it was before due to attitudes like this.

OP, the women is a filthy thief, no better than any crooked banker. Report her, it is your moral duty.

    +1

Sometimes I despair of us all (or most of us, reading this thread), I really do.

How badly would the child suffer really? No matter what she will still have food on her back and clothes in her mouth, with an income and money from the OP's partner I'm sure they have enough to survive. Claiming more is simply cnutish.

Also, one can anonymously report to the Dept of Social Protection and it just makes them take a close look at someone, it seems random.

    Sorry OP for this.

Take the child out of the equation it's irrelevant. SW fraud is wrong. This is not about the child or the relationship the op has with the child.

Your step daughter will find out about what her mother is doing and also the way the mother has treated you and that will change the way your step daughter sees her. Believe me there is such a thing as Karma and this one will get hers. You don't want to be the bad one in this equation. Believe me as a mother nothing would hurt me more then if my son was closer to his step mother then me. So I think as the saying goes revenge is a dish best served cold. Don't rat this one up, let her daughter be judge and executioner and that will be worse in the long run!!!

None of your business though is it? There are people employed to look in to welfare fraud, your ratting could cost them their jobs, like that would ya?

Depends whether the person is a twat or not, is the longer and short of it.

Agh I`m not saying she is a twat I`m saying she is a twat to me but at the end of the day I`m married to someone who didn`t think she was good enough to marry and in her head that somehow became my fault - she was engaged to someone else by the time I met him so nothing to do with me.

OP I certainly would. I'm fed up of paying tax, but I'm really mad at paying tax to support people who are scamming the system.

My neighbour was renting out their council house to another family while they obviously have somewhere else to live.
Now they just live there at weekends and it's lying empty all week.

I don't really know these people so don't know what their background is or where else they live or if they own the other house but it does piss me off to be paying a mortgage and that going on beside me.

Still couldn't bring myself to rat them out though.

The people employed to "look into it", really depend on people to tell them who it is thats committing the fraud. So I don't really understand your post. Its not like the SW just pick a name out of a hat..

Why? The Housing list is extremely long, and these pricks are tying one up.

I'm guessing that you are not a high level banker or a politician, so we can presume that you are okay with all of the cuts that are going to happen in the upcoming budget, the bank guarantee and all that went on cut wise over the past few years then?

Always report a cheat, you'll be making this country a better place.

She is a rat by cheating decent people including her daughter. Your not a rat for doing your duty!

This type of attitude has to change in this country!

I had a neighbour a couple of years back who defrauded our country out of over 55k in a year. Was only caught when he done some part time work in our local Tescos. His defence was he didn't know he was doing wrong! He moved shortly after, Bast***!!!!

I can tell you for a fact that it DOES NOT happen like that!!! It does not come across as random, they make it perfectly clear they got a tip off!!! They would like to believe that, that is the way it is so more people report but believe me these people are found out!!

And when the rows break out in the house between the step mum and the dad about who reported them, what are they going to do now. When all this emotional **** is going on and the daughter is listening to it that is good for her is it. How do you know what the result of this could be. I have seen this kinda thing first hand and the children always suffer in some way!

It is up to the OP obviously but I personally wouldn't!!!

When i see the people who caused this economic disaster led away in handcuffs and then jailed, then and only then will i lift the phone to report social welfare fraud.

Have you been a benefits cheat? This country is in an awful condition, this person doesn't deserve the benefits. Simples.
