The replacement screen itself I couldn't recommend enough...it really is the Nomad as it should have been.

I love the fact you went for a boxed NTSC-J Game Gear. What a fantastic haul you got there. Nice one! :)

I wonder has DX's postage gone to pot as it was never too bad when I ordered stuff from them - was always the usual 2 or 3 wks for something from HK (think that's where they ship from).

It's such an amazing improvement alright. Shame we can't somehow go back in time and give the tech to Sega :)

I think your screen took absolutely ages didnt it? Yeah, you ordered yours, I ordered mine a good bit after and they both arrived at the same time?

Either that or it was the other way around.

Hmm maybe it was, I got two of them from that place but don't recall them being too bad a wait. You might be right though. Either way, it's a must have mod so the wait is worth it I guess.

I'd love to know how many of those screens have shipped just for that mod. The guys at DX must think we're all obsessed with reversing cars.

City Connection on the Famicom arrived today. Still waiting on the Famicom :P

Extremely fast shipping considering it was shipped and delivered in 5 days including a weekend! Bought it from here and would highly recommend them. Site looks dodgy but it's ok!

Got a few bits over last few weeks.

The SNES and Megadrive including all the stuff with them, I got for 20 euro on adverts.
Delighted with all of it as well. Had a sega got from another seller ages ago and it never worked and had games for it.

Turtles was swapped for a zelda cart and the box is in great condition and has all the manuals as well. Very happy with that.

Zelda, Mario Golf and Mario Party Advance was al from same sellar on ebay. Worked out at around 45 with post. All complete and in good condition.

The zelda edition sp was from adverts as well.

The gameboy games are my fave!:D

Mint condition the lot and was free postage on them. worked out at 12 euro each and I dunno if thats pricey or not but I dont care as they are in excellant condition.

I've bought from those guys many times. Great site and good service.

    Nice game you got too!

Was in London for Distant Worlds, couldn't help a visit to CEX though :) Selection wasn't the best. Got FFXII (**** game but was so cheap it was just to complete the collection, £5), Shadow of Rome (£2.50), Panzer Dragoon Orta(£3.50), Mad Maestro (£0.20!).

 There's a copy of that in a videogame shop close to me but keep passing on it. The same company made another games called Mr. Moskeeto which looks fun and quirky and I really really want it!

Bit of a cheeky question, but who would be the most hardcore collectors on here?

Does anyone have more than 1 copy of each console? :D

I heard Ray Barnholt talking about it on retronauts so had to pick it up, especially for that price :) Would love to play Mr. Moskeeto and the sequel, they look fun. I saw them when I was in NY years ago and left it on the shelf :/

Epic mug, epic taste and epic satisfaction.

Popped up a few more there. Pics of games, not that epic mug.

As for most hardcore of collectors I can honestly say ..... its not me!
    No Candy Cab here :(
But I do have lots of goodies all the same :)

As for consoles I have different variants of some, so I own an MD, MD2 and a Multi Mega.
I have a bunch of Gameboys and DS' too but, again, they are all variants.

If I see something for really cheap I'll just buy it. I mostly buy things that I want or are/will be hard to come by. I don't have the biggest collection but I'm happy with 90% of the stuff in it :P

Hehe! I'm a bit too efficient and economic with money when it comes to these things.

There's a nice Cart out for the C64 that I've been contemplating buying for a while now,
It's the most compatible, and has the easiest interface, but it's about €145.

To soften the blow, I guess I can just compare it to what some of you guys have spent money on, so it doesn't look like that much of a luxury!

There's also a more expensive c64 cart thats €185, that has a standalone Commodore Amiga emulator built in, which can be used via the VGA output.

If I'm getting the 2nd dearest then it doesn't seem so bad!

These yokes landed on my desk today. One item isn't here, saving that for another thread as (to me anyway) it's a bit special.

Got a nice surprise too in one of the packets, the seller knows I have a thing for shooting games (especially Darius) and stuffed in a Darius Burst ship from the Shooting Game Historica collection as a nice gift to me! Very cool touch and a nice surprise!

The model looks awesome and has spurred me on to collect all the models now, something I was toying with (excuse pun) for a long time. Seeing these little models for real has got me eager for the set!

A few bits that arrived yesterday and today.

Few Game Boys including a clear DMG-01 (and a regular DMG-01 I forgot was coming).
Most will need new screens(which are on the way) and all will need a good clean but most of the shells are in mint or near mint condition apart from a little dirt.

I also got a second wireless controller for the megadrive to go with the one I got a while ago (new one on bottom).

Yeah, I do like the DMG-01 and its hard to find a mint condition one.
But I was lucky and got 2 mint condition and a good condition clear one. Of course the screens are not mint but that's easily fixed, I really only care about the shell.

My only concern is the replacement screens coming for the DMG-01's are actually original replacement parts so the glue on them might not be great after all this time. So i might have to source a decent bonding agent that's similar to what was originally used.

You don't want to use super or regular glue on these things and thats for sure.

Well they get power from the Game Boy serial port(gamelink) so wouldn't work.
Unless you could mod it somehow.

Ah OK, I thought they could be moulded to shape or something along those lines. It's a shame the Neo Geo Pocket ones are so hard to find. I don't even think the Wonderswan has one does it?

The Neo Geo pocket does have them but they are bloody hard to find.
    Not sure about the Wonderswan.

You know you can mod the Neo Geo pocket with a front light from a Game Boy Advance SP.

@SteveSI where did you source the replacement screens from?
