The SU shop charged me €4.65 today for a hot chicken roll + can of coke yet there are signs up everywhere saying it's €3.50! Apparently that offer only applies to certain fillings in the roll (I asked the till operator, the offer apparently changed since last week) but that isn't publicised either! I was half tempted to leave the products behind but was just too hungry afrter my half an hour of queuing!

    Stables from now on methinks
They let me off last month :pac:

UL should still be open for the elections. (Given we've only one lecture that day, I'm sure you can afford to miss it. :))

Tutor ignores my e-mail sent early yesterday to meet the project group this morning.

She gets back to me at 9.35 this morning saying she could meet us at 10.

Are you fooking kidding me, like?!

The revamped scanning machines at the library.. FUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Two down this evening, one working (just about). Took a good minute or two to read the card of the person in front of me, took a good 4 or 5 goes to recognise mine too. It wouldn't even read one of the books I wanted!

Nightmare OK, thought they'd have gotten better by now though. Only alternative is the 'more than occasionally surly' staff at the service desk...I'd take my chances with the self-service machines.

I think you're naive and wrong. You send an email on Thursday at 10am and she gets back to you at Friday at 9.35 am and think this is unacceptable?

If you need to organise a meeting with someone, give them at at l48 hours.

true but emailing someone at 9.35am to arrange a 10 o clock meeting is ridiculous also.

I e-mailed her on Monday at 2pm to arrange a meeting at 10am on Tuesday, and she replied at 9.35 on Tuesday morning, giving us 25 minutes to get to her.

As it turns out we met her at the tutorial later on and she was very apologetic, explaining that the broadband went or something so she couldn't reply until she got in (no email on the phone?). But she was very helpful and attentive with us at the tutorial so no harm, no foul :)

I have no email on my phone.

Were you not initially prepared to meet her at 10 am?

this happened to me with a lecturer who moved my class from a Friday evening to 11 on a tuesday morning. He let me know at 9 that morning. I didn't have class until 1 that day so I obviously slept through it...

Can I just confirm that these messages are going to the entire student body not just postgrads? I made use of a college wide email myself to spread a survey of some of my own work as well so I'd be slow to be criticise others as that would be a tad hypocritical. But its obvious certain departments are more frequently emailing than others.

Generally get on well with most mature graduates, but some them can be a bit rude, won't even acknowledge you.

Not that it's an issue, but is it just me or does an overwhelming majority of UL students exclusively just wear tracksuits? Is there any reason? Never really seen it as prevalent in other places I've been. I know UL is a sports-focused uni but...

What he said. Plus, we're a sports-focused uni, despite having one of the best courses in the planet (MMPT).

As someone doing engineering and was a constant "jeans wearer" I've been converted. Fatman pants are sooooo comfortable :D:pac:
