Which do ye think will be the better game gta 5 or saints row 3?

I had 10x more fun in saints row 2 than i had in gta 4, altho saints row always looked like a poor mans gta but the saints row the 3rd is looking very nice from what i saw. But gta V wont be out for a year or two maybe it would be compared with saints row 4 if they make one woop wooop.

you didnt like TBOGT  it was awesomeness in a dlc package

I did enjoy it and the mission variety was excellent compared to GTA4. Just thought that the attempts at humour in the cutscenes were pathetic.

Red Dead Redemption was set in 1911 so I think the 1920s would be too close to that. And you gotta have talk radio in GTA

Good point. Seems there were radios in cars in the 30's but it wasn't common place.

Mafia 2 was done right already. It was called Mafia. It also did a serious GTA game much better than GTA 4.

The original Mafia was brilliant. Especially because the protagonist was, unlike Niko Belic, very likeable. He started out as a straight laced character who got sucked into the mob, turned them in years later and lived out his life in the witness protection program. If Rockstar just wholesale copied that plot and made a game set in 30's Chicago, that would be no bad thing.

But where Mafia 1 and 2 fall down is that the city is mostly just backdrop with very little to interact with. You need all the minigames, side missions, jumps, base jumps, etc etc added to make it something memorable.

Every single GTA set in Liberty City has been followed by Vice City. Heck even the first game had Vice City right after liberty. If it's not Vice or San Andreas I'm disappointed (I'll still buy and love it though).

then again, they probably wouldn't have called it V if they were going the old rotation route...

Could be 'V' for 'Vice' as in Vice City.

It could be v for Vatican as in Vatican City. We all know the kind of corruption in that place!

i love how we have no idea :D im hoping if it is la like some are saying it will be similar to SA, as in an entire state with multiple cities and small towns, LA by itself would be a bit of a letdown tbh

As is the Rockstar way we are going to get a very vague idea of what it is in the video this week. Then they'll start a viral campaign with fake websites and trickle the info out until about a week or two before launch we get a trailer. Also don't expect them to turn up at E3.

its been so long since gta4 and they havnt deved anything since, i could see them taking a different approach with this one, why wait all this time to even announce they where making the game? in all probability they began straight after gta4, theres an article from gamespot a couple of months back saying they where finishing up the game

    V for (Los) Venturas
V for 5 islands/areas - San Andreas was 5 areas really (3 cities, and 2 wide expanses of area in the form of the desert and countryside)
V for a new GTA era perhaps
    V for 5 protagonists

    Who knows :D

Always was a fan of the past few games box art. This is a fan version of V if set in Washington -

I dont know why but im thinking it could be boston, which if it was id be delighted.

It would be great if they left America and went somewhere like Hong Hong but I cant see that happening.

    I agree.

If we look at it this way, the very fact that it's called 'Vice' means that there are loads of shady, corrupt figures with the corresponding storylines which can be implemented.

This goes against my earlier post regarding Washington, D.C. being the setting, but Vice City as the setting for GTA V just seems to make sense and fit into place; backed up by the money-theme which is so obvious and rife in the recent Rockstar Trailer announcement.

All in all though, I cannot ****ing wait til the 2nd of November!

Well if previous media campaigns are anything to go by then the game is very close to finished. They only start the campaign less than a year before launch.

I hope not tbh re: Boston. Excluding Vice City (Miami, Florida), I rather branch away from the dreary and dull look of places like New York, Philadelphia, Washington and Boston unless there were multiple cities like in San Andreas. Likewise Chicago I have to add.

New Orleans, Panama City (similar to a certain to Vice City) and Texas would be nice changes.
Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai and the list goes on would all be nice to see but certainly asking too much I feel.

Modern day Vice City with Tommy Verceti ruling the drug trade would be all kinds of WIN!

If I remember correctly, Rockstar began releasing trailers and doing media work around October 2007 and released GTA IV in April '08. Could be a similar enough release date as it would avoid clashing with any big releases next year, and would be out before the annual summer lull.

I would love this! Continuing on from where Tommy killed Sonny.

And remember from the very end of Vice City where Tommy and his lawyer are chatting away and Tommy says:
"This can be the beginning of a beautiful business relationship"

...ah lads, it's gonna be set in Vice City!

Any guesses as to who will voice the main character? Ray Liotta was a great choice for Vice City.

tbh GTA is the one series that doesn't have to be worrying about clashing with other titles. They don't even need to show up to E3. Just release a 30 second vague trailer and watch the interweb explode!

I dunno, a lot of people felt like they were let down after GTA IV. Many in fact have turned away from the series altogether. Although I'm sure a 30 odd second trailer will have them all scurrying back for more :pac:

Ya but I didn't enjoy GTA 4 at all and i'm still foamin for this trailer. If GTA 4 was their 1st game, I wouldn't have much interest but because of VC and SA alone, my hopes are as high as Mount Chiliad!!
