So the farce that is the 2011 Irish presidential election campaign is almost over and I for one will be glad to see the back of most of the contestants nominees. It got me thinking though, how bad is it going to be next time, and who will be throwing their hat into the ring? Here's my prediction.

    The Nominees

    Patrick Bartholomew Ahern
    Johnny Logan
    Gabriel Mary Byrne
    Amanda Brunker
    Brian Dowling
    Charlie Bird
    Dana

Our German overlords will have an "overseer" firmly ensconced in the Viceregal Lodge by that stage.

    Bono.

Because everytime he wanted to speak in public he'd have to ask for permission first.

    I'll be 35 then, I'll run.

    Vote boardsie, vote Pep!

... though I suspect Sinn Fein would look through my 19 years of posting on boards for dirt :(

There'll definitely be Dana, of course, wouldn't be a Presidential Race if Dana wasn't there, it's tradition at this stage!

We would need to move the Aras to the Netherlands before good old Bono would consider the role, after all it would be unfair of us to expect him to pay tax in this country on his Presidential salary.
