I'm not voting anyway. I'm up in Galway during the week, so to vote I'd have to head back to Longford, so screw that.

Watching Sean Gallagher implode tonight made for excellent TV. I wouldn't be surprised if he still won but he really shouldn't. If the Norris we got tonight showed up for every debate I think he'd actually have a chance.

Haven't a clue who to vote for. Michael.D is so old he needs the rosary more than a presidency(the man reminds me of a old bilbo baggins). Gallagher is pure sketchy. McGuinness lets not even begin about the skeletons in that man's closet. Mary Davis is a dried up prune. Gay Mitchell has less charisma than John Laurenitis,FACT. Dana is a soft headed dolt. I'm kinda leaning towards Norris (even though its throwing away a vote) I want to hear rte say here is our president & his first Lad...is it?

Awesome, just read this on BBC and it made me laugh

    --
Czech police were forced to breathalyse a referee after he sent off three players for no apparent reason and spent a lot of his time on the floor. Tomas Fidra, who reportedly 'smelt like a brewery', had been celebrating his birthday before the game between Jestrabi Lhota and Tynec-nad-Labem, which ended 1-1. In the end, the match was annulled by the regional football authority on the basis of fair play.

so you are not judging him on anything but his age and his looks?!

Michael D is the ONLY one of the candidates that has a f*cking clue what the office of the presidency entails - he is the only candidate actual going for the right job - all the others havent a clue!

I don't mind him but he could die in the next 7 years. Don't be so sensitive its not like if we vote anyone in that there is going to be a change around here anytime soon

This could be one of the greatest announcements to do with gaming in a long, long while:

Didn't see that coming its coming so late this gen. I remember anticipating IV so much & now I haven't played it in yonks. There is a real gap in the market late next year with all the great games out between now & spring.

Going by rumors, they have been working on this game for a long while now. Since before LA Noire.
So i wouldnt say there will be any faffing about this time.

I heard somewhere before that rockstar were going to wait for the next gen consles to release a new major GTA title.. Thank god that was wrong :D

At present they are potentially about 3 years away. So that would mean a 6 year gap inbetween a gta release. They are going the better route, release one within the next year and then start on a possible next gen GTA that will be available on launch for both the ps4 and xbox 720.

The speculation about this game over the last 7 months has been unreal.

We could all be dead in 7 years ffs.

I cannot remember the last election I had so little interest in. Probably mostly due to the fact that Irish president is a hollow office anyway.

Do Mods get free All Ireland tickets though?
Just finished the arkham city campaign there pretty good but not as good as arkham asylum imo. The boss fights were alrite but everything else felt like they tried to cram too much stuff in, now onto the side missions.

    RE: Ages

    Higgins is 70
    Norris is 67
    MMG is 61

There's only a ten year age gap between three of the candidates, but for some reason, only Higgins seems to be discussed about age. Regardless, it's not as if its some hugely important role he'll have, and if he did die, all we'd have to do is have another vote. It's not like the country will die if he does <_<

I cant get past the bit where
the snipers are on the roofs when your trying to get into the joker.

I try to pick them off one by one but they always see me.

    Any tips GTR?

    CM,
start from the most lateral and highest sniper (i.e. a "corner" sniper), and take a wide birth coming in from around them (on surrounding buildings' rooftops) and sneak up to them and silent takedown. Take them out in a 'ring' fashion so that you're never between two snipers (to left AND right)

last two guys on the ground, ground-dive one of them and run around the boxes they're standing in front of, so the other sniper can't shoot you. Then get on the rooftop and ground-dive him!

    hope that helps!

Ha, my tickets must've washed away :o

I hear ya. Batman AC is very different to AA, maybe it's the 'wow' from the original game or that the pacing/story structure is stronger in AA, with a confined environment; but i loved it! Opened out the world and there's far more variety. I've been doing the main quest, then a few side missions, back to the main quest during the whole campaign; it's much more satisfying! You get to level up more and meet some new characters via sidequests, but the main story is more convoluted, and
it annoys me that batman would "defeat" baddies, just for them to try kill Bats again a few hours later. It's so friggin stupid. Although it played into the end, I was losing my temper with Batman's idiotic decision not to kill; or at least seriously maim. Less innocent people would die. I know it's an ingrained trait, it's just a bit tiresome seeing how very wrong he is about it, hoping baddies inadvertently kill each other or themselves.

I figured out the problem. I was being stealthy and all, but when i would attempt the silent takedown i would use the knockout smash too.
    :o

Go counter-clockwise, from the highest one down, starting at Ace Chemicals.

Did it on my third try.

My biggest gripe with Arkham City was I kept waiting for a big WOW moment that I never seen coming like the scarecrow parts in Asylum, then again I knew most of the Villians who were announced in the last few months so Rocksteady didn't leave loads of shocks to suprise. I've finished the Campaign & ain't that pushed to get cracking on the side missions. Really tempted to play through Uncharted 2 again before Drake's Deception next week.

You'd attract less attention if you didn't shout IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME! before flying down to kick them :pac:

Blargh, I ruined the twist that
    Joker is Clayface
quite literally fifteen minutes before I got to that part in the game >_< Wow at the ending though.
I didn't think they'd kill anyone so as to make sure the game fits into general continuity, let alone both Joker and Talia. Ras will obviously be back, and Clayface fell into the Lazurus chamber but Joker was a shock one for me....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

How did it get spoiled for you? :( I was quite happy to see them kill off some characters, but nobody truly dies in these things. Especially since the first two Batman games have used up all the big names imo. Maybe Riddler will become a main quest and not a side show in Gotham City. Shocked to see Black Mask jobbed out at the start of the game
    :P

Who do you wanna see take the lead in Batman 3?

I'd just rather have a few less this game had way too many villians. I've finished 3 of the side missions 2 of which had big name villians & they aren't that special. I'd rather if they refrenced more like they did in Arkham Asylum than having them in it for about 5 minutes like you know who when you collect a cure on top of a building. If I had to choose one villian it'd be Twoface, haven't played the Catwoman dlc (no live at the moment) so he's the one i'd pick.

I was reading up on Green Lantern villains on Wiki after finishing Sinestro Corp Wars and was browsing through Batman crossover villains as well. Ended up reading about Solomon Grundy, Talia, Red Hood, Robin's various incarnations, and then I dropped onto
    Clayface's
page. I knew I was really near the end of the game so wasn't even thinking about spoilers. But, low and behold, right there in the "In other media" section....

I had only said the day before that I thought it was funny I hadn't seen a reference but there's plenty else they left off as well. At most, I thought there'd be a riddle.

As for the next game, I reckon, based off the ending,
    Clayface
will be up there. Two Face is kind of neutered by the Catwoman DLC for me. Personally, I'd love to see them delve into the DC universe a bit more and maybe drag in some of the Justice Leauge; maybe bring in Lex Luthor, Sinestro or one of those, and give the player the chance to play as Superman et al as well.
