That Italia '90 video is fascinating. There's a surprising amount of old luxobarges in it.

LHD and in a mint state. Raining doesn't help the picture.

And this rare little beast today at Nenagh Cars and Coffee.

Is that one of the fabled original Irish AE86s at 4.44 I wonder? Surely?

Must be! Very cool video, the father was able to name every car in it. Showing my age here, I knew very few only the common ones! Kadett's were plentiful :L

Anyone know what the white van is at 3:25? I thought it might be a Yugo 45 but it doesn't look like it.

^ that's a Cortina '80 though. 2.0 GL would be a rare enough spec here though wouldn't it?

    its either a Mk5 with a mk4 back bumper or a mk4 with mk5 back lights.

Has no door mirror so Id say its a mk4....

Would you be able to fit Mk5 lights on a Mk4?

Back in the day they used to manufacture lots of car badges in Collinstown Co. Westmeath.

All the local 1.1 escorts were 2.0 GLS Ghia's! :D

Could teach the A4 TDi RS4 boys a thing or two!

Uprated mk4 no such thing as a mk5, dad had a 2.0 ghia which I thought was top of the range until a 2.3 v6 drove past us on the way to visiting my then shock baby brother in 1982

Some spot that, my dream cabrio, always has been. I think thats a very rare early La Croisette model, hard to see without a full side view, The very early ones had two panels behind the rear door, divided by a chrome strip which I think you can just about see there. Later ones had a one piece wing from the door to the back of the car.

They were built up till 1960 or so, at a time when the car was not sanctioned by Citroen, so the cars were bought whole from the dealers and then converted in the Chapron workshop. If its an original La Croisette, its worth well over €100,000.

I think it is - It's a Palm Beach model, at least going by the emblem on the front wing... not too familiar with them though. I've seen it parked around a bit, if I can I'll take a few more photos. Here is the first photo again in larger filesize with a photo of the interior:

OK, its not a La Croisette, what I thought was a chrome strip is actually a reflection of the kerbstone:o.

Its a mid 60's model, gorgeous and beautifully maintained/restored nonetheless.
