All the Fox bashing in The Simpsons is in jest, Groening was hardly going to bite the hand that was feeding him

Don't you find it funny that in the 8 years G Bush jnr was president he wasn't made reference to once?

Clinton on the other hand was constantly the subject of jokes, in one episode he looks at the camera, winks and says :"But hey, I was a pretty lousy president"

The Simpsons and Groening is a FAR bigger brand than Fox. They can say what they like!

LOL and you demanded "does that give them the right to have biased news reporting", before you did a sneaky ninja edit!!
    ;)

another poor choice of words (hence the edit)! In fairness though it is obvious that I don't question their right to do it at this stage, I'm merely trying to highlight how one sided they are

You're only ranting because you are jealous. You are a leftie and cannot understand that people like fox. Meanwhile a station like MSNBC does the same thing but you don't bleat on about them.

MSNBC doesn't blatantly lie, constantly get information wrong, have zero knowledge of world geography or use "Fair and balanced" as it's slogan.

You think? News international dwarfs the Simpson's in terms of influence and power and revenue

It's the one of the biggest companies in the world

Looking back on it, probably the most pointless debate on boards, both of us actually felt the same :D

Oh how Fox News make me laugh, with their 'fair' and 'balanced' reporting? It's a bit like Joesph Goebbels claiming he was a champion of free speech.

they don't even try to hide their bias while still claiming to be neutral, thats never been more evident than in the past 2 weeks

    Surely that's a good thing?

Just out of curiosity... how do you figure Einhard?

I mean, I am aware of the concept of the noble lie but I don't think you are about to claim that that is Fox News' motivation, or are you?

In summary, Rossie said 'Fox lie' {i.e they constantly claim they strive to be neutral but clearly do not and are not} and you responded 'ain't that swell?', care to elaborate?

I was expecting the protester to be shouted down and the more shouting back, torn a new one??

Something like this shameful episode from Sky News

The Fox reporter gave him a chance and the protestor was articulate, it was all pretty mild
Where's the outrage coming from OP?

As for agenda, well all the Networks have them
You picked FOX but MSNBC are much the same for the liberals

Clinton Network News got their nickname for a reason

This is my favourite Fox News report. It's about a serial killer on the prowl.

Listening to Kay Burley's unprofessional/incompetent style of journalism is something to be avoided at all costs. Her type fits in nicely with the Murdoch Empire I suppose. I think during that debacle, she probably deluded herself into thinking she was having her own Jeremy Paxman - Michaeal Howard moment.

You don't watch Rachel Maddow much, do you?

Either that, or you just fully agree with her and don't notice her own little slant on things.

    NTM

We are a country that has a lot to protest about yet there is only a few dozen protesting in Dublin. I hope the numbers increase.
I can guarantee you they won't. Irish people like to be subservient to the elites and not stick their heads above the parapet.

It's like RTE and The Late Late Show, people always giving out about them yet TLLS has huge viewing figures every week.

Much like the late late show the average age of their viewership is 65. they won't compete in the long term because younger Americans are largely seeing through the bull****. I also think they are making a massive miscalculation with their treatment of Ron Paul. Younger Republicans are overwhelmingly libertarian as opposed to the WASP culture sold on Fox. Even liberals are defending him against that.

It seems to be kool here to dislike Fox news, its one of my most watched tv networks.

This kind of stuff might have something to do with it:

The most farcical thing imo is the doctoring of photos of people to make them look ugly when they don't want the audience to agree with them:

edit: I remember seeing a clip somewhere from a Fox news broadcast where they showed Obama saying "Taxes are due to go up by the end of the year", at which point they cut him off and said "finally some honesty from him blah blah blah". The video I was watching then showed the actual clip where he said "Under plans enacted by my predecessor taxes are due to go up by the end of the year but...". Of course Obama's actual meaning was of no use to Fox because reality doesn't fit their agenda
